Fracture promises to deliver what Red Faction didn't. But Red Faction also made a lot of promises ... The terrain deformation looks very dramatic, and may provide a visceral experience that no other FPS game has. Granted, it's a crowded market. Will LucasArts be able to deliver?

Bethesda's take on everyone's favorite apocalypse looks absolutely stunning. Fallout is a beloved franchise to many, and for good reason. This PS3 flavored approach will reinvent the series, but hopefully Bethesda will be able to keep the sharp, dark bite the series has been known for. Considering their experience with The Elder Scrolls, we can be confident.

Quantic Dream is trying to push the boundaries of video game story telling yet again in their upcoming Heavy Rain. A serious emphasis on expressing human emotion from the team that brought us Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) should bet anyone excited. We can't wait to see what this game is all about.

Prototype has you playing as a sinister hero (?) in an epic recreation of New York. The tone is dark, and the demonic powers bestowed upon the main character have us intrigued to find out more.

Borderlands

There is a great amount of talent behind Borderlands. Details have been scarce about Gearbox's upcoming FPS adventure, but the hype machine is already rolling strong. The teaser trailer that debuted a few months ago provided far more questions than answers, but the unique mood and approach of the trailer certainly give us hope.

No more demos. No more prologues. The full game is coming later this year, so long as Polyphony Digital keeps focused. Right? Right?
