Yesterday in Second Life: Second Life Daily News

Yesterday in Second Life there was:
  • 19,793 new signups bringing the total to 12,030,055 signups.
  • A peak concurrency of 61,927 (a new record!) at 1:55PM, and a minimum concurrency of 34,337 at 1:10AM. Median concurrency for the day was 46,128.
  • The Grid Stability Index for the day was 0.95 (lower is better).
  • Reports of problems and difficulties were nearly absent today, unusually, despite the high concurrency.
  • Linden Lab had phone troubles again. Since the issue isn't marked as resolved, we assume that it is still ongoing. Curiously, at 11:46, an update said "While this issue is being worked on, your calls will connect." which we can only interpret as "While it is being fixed, it will behave as if it is already fixed." – but perhaps that is supposed to mean something else. We're just not sure.

Below is the day's concurrency graphed for yesterday (left), and the corresponding day from the previous week (right)

Active users reported by Linden Lab (that is, users who have logged in for more than 60 minutes in the last 60 days) is 1,349,114. Linden Lab last updated this figure on 18 Jan 2008 at 23:59.
