Yesterday in Second Life: Second Life Daily News
Yesterday in Second Life there was:
- 18,920 new signups bringing the total to 12,048,975 signups.
- A peak concurrency of 60,230 at 2:00PM, and a minimum concurrency of 32,481 at 1:40AM. Median concurrency for the day was 44,616.
- The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.18 (lower is better).
- Peak concurrency topping 60,000 is starting to become routine, with little sign of the failures that plagued things in the first half of the month.
- Median signup rates remain quite stable across the month, but seem to be trending upwards.
- Linden Lab's phones were finally fixed after slightly more than 24 hours of trouble.
- There was a fundraiser for Democrat House of Representatives candidate Mark Pera. I don't know anything much about American politics, but some folks consider this significant.
- Yesterday was the last day before Linden Lab's new policy on banking takes effect. By the time you read this, it will be in force.
Below is the day's concurrency graphed for yesterday (left), and the corresponding day from the previous week (right)
Active users reported by Linden Lab (that is, users who have logged in for more than 60 minutes in the last 60 days) is 1,352,160. Linden Lab last updated this figure on 20 Jan 2008 at 23:59.
