New Second Life release candidate viewer: 1.19.1(RC1)

Linden Lab has released a new 1.19.1 Second Life release candidate viewer, 1.19.1(RC1), second in the 1.19.1 series (release candidates start counting from zero, rather than from one).

According to the new Linden Lab crash reporter, 1.19.1 is expected "to be the most stable viewer so far". This release fixes attachments ignoring users telling them where to go, boosts defective particle systems, makes the new search honor the user's selected language, removes the mess with sculptie previews, and builds strong bodies five ways. Specifics are after the fold.

Listed changes for this release:

  • SVC-1764: Setting parcel media for a single agent is broken with new media

  • VWR-4899: Windlight Particle System - burst severely weakened

  • VWR-4959: WindLight: "Sculpted Prim" preview makes a huge distorted mess of polygons

  • VWR-5087: Attach To... from inventory ignores selected postion and attaches to stored location.

  • VWR-5479: The option "Save Texture As" from File menu is not active in 1.19.1 (0) (Second Life Release Candidate)

  • Crash when quitting from login screen

  • functionality ( PARCEL_MEDIA_COMMAND_AGENT broken)

  • Scripted object for playing movies no longer functions under 1-19-1

  • FireGL and Quadros no longer show 'unsupported' dialog

  • Crash: 'Error parsing skeleton XML file'

  • Crash when opening the expanded media control

  • Propagate client language setting into search URL

Release candidate viewers access your live account on the main Second Life grid (Agni). Potentially they may cause hair-loss in pets, and should be always be kept out of reach of children. The downloads are served by Amazon's S3 service and we use and recommend the use of a download manager to keep your download times to a minimum.

You can download this viewer from the usual place. The download for Windows is 35MB, Mac OSX is 75MB, and Linux is 55MB.
