MMOG Podcast Roundup: Mar. 14th - Mar. 21st
Every week, hardworking Massive gaming fans put their voices on the line to bring us news, opinions, and 'critiques' of their favorite games. Podcasts are a staple of many hobbies nowadays, and fans of online worlds are especially fortunate in this regard ... there are a ton out there.
As such, every so often we'll try to update you on the podcasting world. Keep your eyes on this space for links to your favorite MMO-commentary celebs. Good and bad, straight-man or blue-mouthed, they all have something to offer about this amazing style of gameplay.
Our spotlight this week rests on The Instance, a fantastic World of Warcraft podcast that reached 100 episodes this past week. They've been going strong since January of 2006! Back then they were talking about the Ahn'Quiraj event and rumours of which races would show up in the Burning Crusade expansion; my oh my how time flies. Make sure you stop over and give their hundredth show a listen – well worth your time. Congratulations!
- The Instance: Episode 100! The group reaches a huge milestone, chat about Blizzard Invitational 2008, and Patch 2.4.
- WoW Insider Show: Episode 30. You can catch the live broadcast of this show, as always, every Saturday at 3:30pm PST. This week's show will feature Elizabeth W, Amanda Dean, Turpster, and Mike Schramm talking about lore, loot, and cross-faction lols. Tune in!
- Shut Up We're Talking: Episode 22. Back to brass tacks as Darren, "Ancient Gaming Noob" John, Tipa of the West Karanas, and "Grouchy Gamer" Paul all settle in to talk about the news making the rounds on the 'sphere. Subjects include the game you'd unmake and the EQ2Flames controversy.
- DDOcast: Episode 59. Much talk of the Codemasters Connect event, the repercussion Monks will have on the game, and a check-in with the world of 'girl gamers'. Also make sure to check out their coverage of the Connect08 event, which includes video footage of the Monk in action.
- VirginWorlds: Episode 108. The last gasp from GDC, including a chat with the folks from Vivox and Multiverse, and a look ahead to the zombie horror of Exanimus.
- Legendary Thread: 03/20/2008. The dropping of attunement requirements apparently delayed their putting up the cast', but at least they get in some good discussion of WoW's upcoming 2.4 patch.
- RingCast: Episode 18. Lady Sinea talks about the upcoming Mines of Moria expansion (also announced at Connect08), as well as a few recent dev chats.
- Games For Windows Radio: 03/19/2008. Alongside Sims 3 talk (yes) Shawn and Anthony fill us in on their love for the City. Of. Herooooes!
- Warp Drive Active: Episode 32. Another deep dive into the depths of EVE culture, with hosts Winterblink and Urban Mongrel. This time around we've got talk of the Council, bitter old noob talk, and some love for the recently-launched Drone Bay podcast.
- The Drone Bay: Episode 3. Speaking of which, these folks get their *pew*pew* on by talking about the ultimate nooby experience in EVE, as well as some tips on how to progress in your chosen careers. Plus? Warhammer bashing.
- Epic Dolls: Episode 28. The upcoming Arena Tourney and the opening of the Sunwell dominate this episode's discussion. Also, a few machinima tips and an invitation to the Prom!
