- At approximately 5AM, strange problems began to take place with the grid. Approximately a half hour later, Linden Lab acknowledged the problems with a notice, and by about 6AM had discovered the cause and temporarily contained the difficulties. Network renumbering of infrastructure equipment took place without delay, as side-effects of that process apparently were to blame. Nonetheless, the grid was still having trouble until well into the afternoon — with reports of glitches as late as midnight.
- Despite all that, many people were undeterred for the majority of the afternoon and evening.
