New Second Life release candidate viewer: 1.19.1(RC3)

Linden Lab has released a new 1.19.1 Second Life release candidate viewer, 1.19.1(RC3), fourth in the 1.19.1 series (release candidates start counting from zero, rather than from one).

Almost all the changes for this release-candidate are essentially cosmetic items. Either those are the low-hanging fruit, or we're getting very close to 1.19.1 (and Windlight) rolling out as the official viewer. With our prognosticating hats on, we predict an official release of 1.19.1/Windlight on Monday or Tuesday (though we're prepared to be wrong, we think it is likely).

Listed changes for this release:

  • VWR-1722: Profiles are editable in two places (including Search browser)

  • VWR-2273: View menu > Instant Message should be changed to "Communicate"

  • VWR-4125: Duplicate names in XUI files make some translated UI texts to show inappropriately

  • Fixed list of names in Friends List showing (Waiting)

  • Help menus have been combined

  • Clean up the Client and Server menu user interface: ctrl-alt-D now toggles the 'Advanced' menu, requesting god status does not display the 'Admin' menu

  • Place Information is hidden behind the tool bar when opened from Second Life Help

  • Fixed: bulk upload of a single file (on Windows) includes the path in the item name and description

  • "Mute" button on script permission dialogs closes all dialogs from the sender

  • Changing viewer language selection doesn't bring up a localized F1 Help in French, Spanish

  • Translated camera controls +64 in both directions.

  • localized versions of panel_login.xml (incorrectly) override the splash page url set in en-us

  • XML resizing in \xui\en-us to accommodate localization lengths

Release candidate viewers access your live account on the main Second Life grid (Agni). Potentially they may cause hair-loss in pets, and should be always be kept out of reach of children. The downloads are served by Amazon's S3 service and we use and recommend the use of a download manager to keep your download times to a minimum.

You can download this viewer from the usual place. The download for Windows is 35MB, Mac OSX is 73MB, and Linux is 55MB.
