New CoX patch brings /sync command live, nerfs Behemoths

The CoX servers went down today to apply the latest patch, which is mostly a collection of fixes. It's notable for the inclusion of a player-side means to address the sync bug, which we looked at late last week. By using the /sync command, players can now resynchronize their client with the server, putting an end to the 'deserted city' syndrome.

Unfortunately, the buff icon bug which has been hanging around for several weeks now is still not completely fixed. This bug messes up the display of little icons that indicate a given buff has been placed. Archetypes whose powersets include a lot of team buffs, such as Corruptors and Defenders, have found this especially frustrating.

The Invincibility power of Behemoths has been 'toned down slightly', which has raised a curious point. According to forum tradition, Behemoths and Family were probably the most farmed mobs in the entire game.

The Family farm was recently addressed by changing the effective status of Family mobs. Behemoths were widely supposed to have had their defense buffed at around the same time, but this was never publicly acknowledged; players insisted that they were now much harder to hit, and agreed that such a change would almost certainly be intended to make Behemoth farming harder. So, this new change could be a slight swing back in the face of overcompensatory buffing.
