- 11,508 new signups bringing the total to 14,189,675 signups.
- A peak concurrency of 61,246 at 1:55PM, and a minimum concurrency of 30,041 at 6:35PM. Median concurrency for the day was 45,695.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 2.74 (lower is better). The morning upgrade of central database systems (intended to improve overall capacity) led to a significant failure, however not nearly so poorly as the problem in the evening.
Billed as "logins and in-world services are sporadic for some residents", more than 20,000 users were apparently knocked out right away, while we received a flood of additional reports that nothing much was working for the the ones who remained.
So far, no data is available on whether the database systems upgrade made things any better – or if it just ended up making things worse. Hopefully, we will learn more in the coming days.
