WoW player achievements have been announced for Wrath

As was speculated by many players, it has been confirmed today that World of Warcraft will implement an achievement system with Wrath of the Lich King. This is something that players have been begging for, as they have very similar systems in many other MMOs, but we can't believe it's finally going to happen.

This achievement system will be enormous, incorporating over 500 achievements from all corners of the game. This will encompass PvE, PvP, crafting professions and more. Some achievements will have rewards, but these will be "purely cosmetic and just for fun", according to Blizzard's announcement. Some examples given are vanity pets, tabards and titles. Plus, this won't be the last you hear of achivement updates; Blizzard plans on continuing with additional achievements with each new WoW content upgrade.
