WoW player's guide to GW: Character advancement

Currently in WoW, the max level is 70. After Wrath of the Lich King, it will climb to 80 and who knows how much further after that. In GW, the level cap is at 20 and will always stay at 20, at least with the current Guild Wars. This is daunting to many WoW players as that level progression is a big part of the game for them. Many people thrive on that numerical measurement of their achievement, and when it is not there in GW, it becomes a deal-breaker.

However, the point of that level 20 cap goes beyond the simplicity of progressing just for that higher number next to your name. Guild Wars was originally created to focus on game play and not so much character development. With an easily-achievable goal of level 20 only a few dozen hours into the game, you can focus on so many other aspects of the game such as storyline advancement, dungeons, high-level zones and skill hunting, to name a few. Plus, as many WoW players know, when you can't play with your friends because they're 10 levels below you, it kills that whole socialization and fun thing. GW eliminates that with a quick leveling system that is there to merely introduce you to the rest of the game.
