WoW player's guide to GW: Crafting and making money
This is one of those categories where there is just no comparison between WoW crafting and what GW considers crafting. The crafting system in Guild Wars is comprised of breaking down an item into smaller elements, such as wood, stone, metal, etc. These elements are then given to a crafting NPC to create a new item from a very short list. The crafting system is not player-driven, and there are no crafting or gathering professions.
To make matters worse, GW has no auction house. The only ways to sell items between characters is to announce your wares in the Trade Channel or rely on an off-site website to advertise what you have to sell or want to buy. This is one of the largest demands from GW players, and is rumored to be included in Guild Wars 2.
