LotRO player's guide to WoW: Guilds, Kinships and Housing

Guilds in both games operate very similarly. In LotRO, they're called kinships and they consist of a basic structure of command much like World of Warcraft has. Both games have the guild/kin name listed over the character's head, but only WoW has a fully-customizable guild tabard to help identify yourself as a member of a particular guild. Both games also have a shared vault storage that anyone in the guild/kinship can access. The biggest difference here is that in WoW, the guild vault is accessed within major cities, right near the personal vault. In LotRO, your kinship has a kinship house that contains three storage chests that can be shared with anyone in the kinship.

This brings us to another huge aspect of LotRO that is not found in WoW: the housing system. Again, leave it to Massively to already have an extensive guide on the subject which contains anything and everything you'd want to know about this feature. It's basically a way to customize your own space with decorations and trophies obtained through raids and high-end areas.
