Although there are 64 Trophies available for Burnout Paradise; 48 Bronze, 11 Silver, 4 Gold and a Platinum. It is currently one of the easier games to achieve Platinum on. Unfortunately you will need a PSEye in order to clear the game. But as a rule, there are few thumb-breakers in this game. So strap in and get at it. There are trophies to be won.
Warning: Trophies are not retroactive, a new game save will be needed if play started before the Trophy patch was released.

Burnout Paradise Elite Difficulty: HARD Just complete all the original Trophies to receive this. Get cracking.

Smash 60 Burnout Billboards Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES The billboards are dotted all over Paradise City. There are 120 in total, but you only need to find 60 of these to get the trophy. The easiest way to do this trophy is to keep an eye out as you travel around the world, hitting every billboard you see. If you do this from when you start playing, you will easily hit the target before you have completed the game. Handily, the Billboards change from pristine condition to a derelict state once broken, so you don't have to keep track of which ones you have already hit. If however you want to get every single Billboard and/or are trying to get 100% clearance, a more systematic approach is needed. I would recommend starting a full clearance while all 120 boards are pristine. Remember though, only 60 are needed to qualify for Platinum. There are a number of billboards in each region of the city. Palm Bay Heights: 20 For a more detailed Billboard guide, I recommend: http://www.burnoutaholics.com/?q=node/747 For a larger version of this image, head to: http://picasaweb.google.com/evild70
Earn your 'Burnout' Driving License Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: YES Licenses are awarded after the required amount of race wins. All standard race types count toward the total. The number of races needed to upgrade your current license to the next are shown after each race win. Make sure you're playing challenges appropriate to your vehicle type. For example, you may want to do Road Rage on strong Aggression type vehicles. Speed class vehicles are ideal for races. Figure out what kind of boost works best for you and avoid events that you're weak with.
Complete 10 Timed Challenges Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: NO You can enter timed challenges by going online. Simply join a game room which is taking part in Timed Challenges, and get to it. This Trophy can be achieved relatively quickly if you know your way around the city and are proficient at each type of challenge. Leave this Trophy till you have played the game a while. At only ten tasks, This trophy will not take too long.
Earn 100% on your Bike License Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: NO To max out your Bike License, simply win all the 34 Bike races. There are two sets of 17 races, the first during the Daytime, the other during the Nighttime. Each are only available during these times. I would recommend that this Trophy should be attempted in one sitting, as you could also do the 24 hours in Paradise on a bike Trophy at the same time. The races can be completed easily within 1 to 1.5 game days, a little over one day night cycle.

Drive through 200 sets of Yellow Smash Gates Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Similar to the Billboard Trophy, this one can be completed easily during the course of normal play. The Smash gates are Yellow Barriers dotted around the map. As with the Billboards, if you see one, drive through it. You will hit 200 faster than you think. Previously broken gates remain broken throughout the game. Watch out for clusters of gates, as they tend to be placed in groups close to each other, say around crossroads, down alleys and around large open areas. Also, there are 400 Smash Gates in total, so like the Billboards, only half are needed for Platinum. If you would like to get all 400, here is a list of the gates in each region: Palm Bay Heights: 50 For a more detailed Smash Gate guide, I recommend: http://www.burnoutaholics.com/?q=node/746 For a larger version of this image, head to: http://picasaweb.google.com/evild70
Earn your 'D' Class License Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Licenses are awarded after the required amount of race wins. See: Earn your 'Burnout' Driving License
Score a x5 Multiplier in Showtime Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: YES Multipliers are awarded in Showtime for hitting buses. A x5 Multiplier = 5 buses in a single Showtime run. This Trophy can be done easily once you pick your starting spot carefully. Ideally, you should not enter Showtime until you see 2 or 3 buses near to each other. 3 buses is preferable. By picking up the first few buses quickly, your chances for getting 2 or 3 more buses are greatly increased. Lastly, it is important that you start the Showtime with a reasonable amount of speed, as you will need to keep your momentum up in order to travel across the city. Pick up every car, sign and truck you can to increase your time. But as soon as you see a bus, head straight for it.
Score a Boost Chain of x4 Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: YES This can only be done in a Speed Class car. A Burnout is achieved by burning through a full tank of Boost. If however, you drive on the wrong side of the road, your boost will refill as you drive in oncoming traffic. If done right Burnouts can be chained. If you crash, stop the car, stop boosting or fail to refill the tank, the chain will be broken. I found the best route to do this trophy was along the beach front traveling from east to west, and then following that road as it turns south down towards Wild Cat stadium. See image below:
Score over 50,000 in a Stunt Run Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: YES This can only be done in a Stunt Class car. Find a spot with a lot of jumps near to a Stunt Run. Three good spots are the Airfield, the Quarry and the southern most bridge. Then simply rack up the points. Make sure to add a spin into your jumps to increase you points.
Complete 10 Freeburn Challenges Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES You can enter freeburn challenges by going online. Simply join a game room which is taking part in Freeburn Challenges, and get to it. This Trophy can be achieved quickly if everyone taking part in the challenges are actively trying to complete each task. But, if there are a few players just cruising around the map, I suggest you leave and find another room. In addition, use of headsets is recommended as other players may not know how to complete an objective, and may need a hand.
24 hours in Paradise on a bike Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: NO Simply stay on your bike for a full Day / Night cycle. I recommend that this is done in conjunction with getting the Full Bike License. See: Earn 100% on your Bike License
| |
Shutdown the Nakamura SI-7 Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES As cars are unlocked, they then appear randomly around the city. If you see any car moving faster than the rest of the traffic, give chase, and perform a takedown / shutdown on it. (Drive it off the road.) It will then be available in the Scrap-yard for you to use. The Nakamura SI-7 should be found in this way.
Drive through a Repair Shop during a Road Rage Enter a Road Rage near an Auto Repair, and drive directly to that Auto repair. Job done.
Perform a 180 degree Flatspin Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Find a decent jump. Approach the jump at speed, and just before you are launched into the air, pull the hand brake and push the stick either left or right. If done correctly the car should turn in a Flatspin. A Stunt Class car would be best for this Trophy attempt.
Survive a Marked Man Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Enter and survive a Marked Man event. As a general rule, in Marked Man you should get across the map as quickly as possible. But when those black cars close in, quick changes in direction and speed seem to throw them off. And don't be afraid to brake. The old Top Gun maneuver works surprisingly well at times. (Hit the brakes as the opposition flies by you.)
Beat the target score in Stunt Run Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Win any Stunt Run. Make sure to use a Stunt Class Car, and make sure to survey the area around the Stunt Run so that you will have a good idea of where you can score easily. A series of jumps close together generally works best.
Power Park your car To Power Park, approach a space between two parked cars at about a 45 degree angle, pull the hand-break and slide the car around to park in between the cars. The car has to be aligned directly with the parked cars, and must not hit the pavement. There are several demonstration videos available on Youtube.
Set 10 Showtime Road Rules Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Showtime Road Rules are scores set on each of the main streets of the city. To start a Showtime Road Rule, press Up on the D-Pad and then hit the L1 and R1 buttons simultaneously. Simply beat the score on any 10 streets to get the Trophy. A key is to always keep moving, preferably towards traffic. Hit buses to get multipliers. It's very easy.
Set 10 Time Road Rules Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Time road rules are time trials set on each of the main streets of the city. Simply beat the time on any 10 streets to get the trophy. An easy way of getting this is to simply use a Speed class car, and continue boosting down a street, getting Burnouts along the way. You should beat Road Rules along the way, so long as you don't crash into anything. Road Rules only start at the beginning of a street. Press up on the D-Pad to see the time you must beat.
Complete 5 Burning Routes Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Each car has a Burning Route. Pick any 5 vehicles and take them out to beat the times. The Burning Route locations are shown on the map screen.
Drive on the wrong side of the road for 547 yards Find a long clear stretch of road and drive into oncoming traffic for 547 yards without any break. The Trophy will appear once you have completed the distance.
Successfully land 10 Super Jumps Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES There are 50 Super Jumps in Burnout Paradise. There are 10 Super Jumps in each of the 5 regions of the city. Palm Bay Heights: 10 Only ten are necessary for Platinum. For a full guide and map of all 50 jumps, go to: http://www.burnoutaholics.com/?q=node/670
Land a Barrel Roll jump Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Barrel Rolls can be performed off the ramps which have a raised section on one side. Perform a jump as normal, but make sure the wheels on the raised side of the ramp hit the riser. The car will spin into a Barrel Roll. Stabilize the car and land it to receive the Trophy. Usually, two rolls are possible off these ramps, if not three, so one roll shouldn't pose much of a problem.
Find all the Events around Paradise City Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Events are usually found at intersections. Through playing the game itself, you should find them all. To view how many you have already found, pause the game and go through the options. This should give you an idea of how many are left out there. For a map: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a73/shadowsdieaway/Dual%20Monitor%20Wallpapers/EventLocationsMap.jpg

There are 11 Car Parks in total. For a map detailing the location of each, follow the link below: http://www.celticshockey.com/Burnout_Paradise_Event_Map_update.jpg

Visit the Airfield Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES Use map from link below:
Jump Over Another Player's Car Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES The key to this Trophy is taking part in online events, Timed and Freeburn. Events are goal specific, one in particular will instruct you to jump over a certain number of cars. If you are in a good group, you should have no problem achieving this task. Alternatively, you and a friend could meet up online and jump each other. Probably the quickest way. Remember, this has to be done online.
8 Players Meet in the WIldcats Baseball Stadium Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: YES Similar to the previous award, the key to this Trophy is taking part in online events, Timed and Freeburn. Events are goal specific, one in particular will instruct everyone to meet in the Wildcats Stadium. If you are in a game with seven other players, this should be easy. Be warned though, not everyone will co-operate... Alternatively, you and 7 friends could meet up online in the stadium. Probably the quickest way. Can be hard to organize though.
Send a Mugshot or Smugshot Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: YES A Mugshot or Smugshot is activated with a Takedown, Road Rule win, etc... The only problem is that you need a PSEye in order to take the picture. The shots are only activated online.
Take Part in an Online Stunt Run Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: NO Join or host a game. You don't need to finish or win these events -- just participate.
Complete any Bike Day Road Rule Difficulty: EASY | Count towards Platinum: NO Set a Road Rule on any Street with a Bike during the Day or Night. So long as you don't crash, you should get this one.
Ride 10 miles on a bike in an 8 player lobby Difficulty: MEDIUM | Count towards Platinum: NO This can be tricky. Driving 10 miles on line is easy. Riding in an eight man lobby on a bike is easy, but doing both simultaneously can be a nightmare. Your best hope is to find a bike only lobby which already has 6 or 7 players and join it. Head to the freeway, wait for the game to fill to 8 players, and then start doing loops around the map as fast as you can. Ten miles doesn't sound like much, but you would be surprised how long it takes. Then it is a case of waiting for that Trophy to ping up. If you are lucky it will, if you are not it won't. Alternatively, if you manage to get seven friends playing at the same time, perhaps when you are doing the Wildcat Stadium Trophy, ask them to stay online while you get the Trophy. Odds are many of them will need it also and be happy to help. |
