FanPoll'08: Fighting Game of the Year / Multiplayer Game of the Year

The fighting game of the year was a little closer than our first two categories but never really shifted. Soulcalibur IV nabbed the top spot early on and didn't let go ending the poll with 43% of the final vote. Something tells us if we had a "Name the most random special characters in a game" vote, Soulcalibur IV would win that too!

The fourth installment in the Soulcalibur series features the Story, Arcade, Training and Museum modes. Soulcalibur IV includes a mode called Tower of Lost Souls, which requires the player to win battles in order to gain rewards.

From the comments:
"Soulcalibur is enormously fun, so I'd have to go with that." — Zack S.

Unsurprisingly, Left 4 Dead took top honors as best multiplayer game of the year. Shockingly, the problematic online component of Gears of War 2 grabbed second place with 23% of the vote! People just can't decide to love it or hate it, we guess.

It's the zombie apocalypse. Bring a friend. Left 4 Dead is a co-operative first-person shooter where you and three friends must fight to survive a horde of infected humans hell bent on stopping your progress and eating your delicious braaaaaaaains!
