Know Your LotRO Lore: Dwarves in the game
Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu! If this battle cry sounds familiar to you, you've probably played a Dwarf in LotRO. It means quite literally, "Axes of the Dwarves! The Dwarves are upon you!" It is the language of the Khuzdul, an ancient tongue held secret by many Dwarves, unless used in a war shout such as this.
When you create a Dwarven character in LotRO, your choices are quite true to what Dwarves would be in the Third Age. You can chose from several nationalities, including Blue Mountains, Grey Mountains, Iron Hills, The Lonely Mountain and the White Mountains. Their sturdy constitution allows them to be some great tank classes such as Guardian and Champion, yet they're diverse enough to play a Hunter and Minstrel as well. Along with the Elves, the Dwarves are the only other class that can play as a Rune-keeper.
When creating a Dwarven character, take a few things into consideration. Your Dwarf has been through some hard times, and the Third Age isn't exactly their best era. This causes their Fate to be decreased a bit. Plus, their stocky stature reduces their Agility attribute. On the plus side, they have improved Common damage mitigation and their Might and Vitality are boosted by default. In battle, a Dwarf shines his brightest, so all in-combat morale and power regeneration is increased, with a penalty to out-of-combat regen on both.
