WRUP: Where the wild ones roam edition
Unable to think of a good intro for this week's WRUP, I bemoaned my lack of ideas around the corporate water cooler, where the team was full of ideas. Kyle suggested the post title.
Me: But who's roaming and who's wild?
Kyle: I'd say Colin is wild and I'm roaming.
Me: But what's interesting about that?
Kyle: You could write it while riding a war elephant across a bridge made of bones that spans a chasm of flaming death.
Me: But how would the reader even know that was happening?!
Kyle: I dunno, just tell them.
So here you are, dear reader, at the beginning of a post brought to you at great personal risk. Without further ado, here's what the Massively team is up to in-game this weekend. Or perhaps, bored of our trials and tribulations, you want only to talk about what you're up to this weekend. That's okay — you can do that too.
- Alexis Kassan: Whatever will load a month's worth of patches fastest... which will likely be CoX because my hubby patched it for me last week.
- Brendan Drain: Despite being a PvP junkie, I do get the occasional urge to run missions in EVE and I'll be doing some of that this weekend instead of my usual PvP gangs. I also finally got the latest EverQuest 2 expansion and got to the right level to check it out, which should be fun. And probably playing some Team Fortress 2 now that the scout achievements are out.
- Colin Brennan: Final Fantasy XI. With the new Fields of Valor program, I can actually level in the early levels without wanting to go insane. It's great! Past that, Naxx raid this weekend. So it's raiding and leveling in my house hold.
- Dan O'Halloran: Continuing my trek to Moria on my Lore-master in LotRO, playing on the Test Server for WAR's Call To Arms expansion, running a few more Heroics with my Resto Druid in WoW and downloading the EQ2 Test Server for my GU51 Lavastorm revamp tour next week.
- James Egan: Hoo-aah! I've just gotten back from meeting EVE lead game designer Noah Ward in NYC, and had a pretty cool surprise: CCP's lead writer Tony Gonzales was there as well. (He wrote the Empyrean Age novel.) They gave me a hands-on of the Apocrypha expansion so, needless to say, EVE play is very much on my radar this weekend. I've also been playing Team Fortress 2 on the same server as this guy and have never seen a Spy this good. Really psyched up for gaming this weekend.
- Krystalle Voecks: Looking to log some time into City of Heroes this weekend. My plan is to play with base building in preparation for Issue 14, when I shall build an epic mission full of evil zombie space monkeys. Assuming, of course, I can find anything to approximate evil zombie space monkeys in there. Besides that, I'll probably play some Phantasy Star Universe on the 360.
- Kyle Horner: After my last couple of weekends being MMO-free, I felt it was time to change things up. Thus, I've returned to Age of Conan and am rolling around preaching the word of Mitra — by brutally and bloodily crushing people's skulls in, hurray! And ah, yes WAR! go ahead and add: I'll also be spending time with WAR's Call to Arms expansion on the PTS, since I can't ignore the chance to once again play my Choppa.
- Lemuel Pew: I may need to take a break from CoH/CoV to try out the new Scout in Team Fortress 2. Otherwise, I may check out Nobi Nobi Boy on the PS3. A new Katamari-style game for five bucks? Can't go wrong.
- Tateru Nino: I'm spending my time with the last blow-out in Tabula Rasa. Still enjoying the heck out of it.
So, gentle readers, tell us — what are you playing this weekend?
