WRUP: Everyone's talkin' about Conan edition
Age of Conan's current free trial program is tough to say no to. Seven days of freedom in the brutal world of Conan? Besides the initial 13GB download, what's not to love? Of course, every Massively writer has their own favorite game, and not even free game time can tear all of us away from our MMO of choice. So what's the Massively team playing this weekend? Read on to find out! And if you couldn't care less what the Massively team is playing this weekend? Well then, tell us what you're playing this weekend, instead!
- Alexis Kassan: Continuing on the perilous journeys in LotRO. Now that I'm able to use the Bree Pony I've had sitting in my inventory since signing up for Lifetime membership, life is sweet... meaning that getting from place to place is easier.
- Brendan Drain: EVE Online. Over the past week, my corp has left the very profitable wormhole system we were in and set up shop in an even more profitable but much tougher "deadly" system. We wrote up our experiences on the forum and went on to sell the location of our previous system to a larger corporation for a whopping 10 billion isk. This is the first time in EVE that a wormhole system has been sold and even though our system was extremely profitable, I seriously wasn't expecting someone to offer that much for it. Over the weekend, we plan to try and tackle some of the sleeper sites in the deadly system we're now in and sell the billions of isk worth of advanced polymers we've created since arriving in the system a few days ago. There's a lot of exciting things going on for me in EVE right now!
- Brooke Pilley: I managed to score a weekend home alone so I plan to play vids and watch movies until my eyes bleed! Gaming will include a lot of WAR (my main SH on Phoenix Throne and alt Sham on Iron Rock), a little L4D, and a little TF2!
- Dan O'Halloran: Continuing my push to get my 45 Lore-master into Moria so I'll be spending the weekend chewing through Angmar and Misty Mountain quests. May peek in on Forochel and Eregion as well for extra questing goodness. Also will be after the drops I need for my Sword and Staff Legendary Trait as well as my Eagle pet Trait. May poke my head into EQ2 as well to check out the GU51 Lavastorm revamp and level my 63 Fury some more by finishing up the Barren Sky and Loping Plain questlines as well as starting the Bonemire questlines from the Kingdom of Sky expansion.
- Elizabeth Harper: I was going to be checking out Age of Conan's new trial, but I'm only on day two of what is looking like a three day download. Good thing Turbine extended LotRO's Welcome Back Weekend — now I can push my Minstrel up towards level 30 with a tasty +25% experience bonus, instead!
- James Egan: A few friends are playing Age of Conan and I'm probably going to jump in this week. After reading our Runes of Magic coverage I think I wanting to give this game a try. Of course I'll have some time in EVE Online but I'm also kicking it old school lately, playing older games I never got to. First up is Indigo Prophecy.
- Joe Blancato: I grabbed the Age of Conan trial, just to see how things have changed now that Craig Morrison's been on the case for a bit. And I've had this weird Team Fortress 2 itch I've been trying to scratch all week. Did they change the Pyro, or did I just get good with him?
- Krystalle Voecks: I hurt my wrist earlier this week, so I've been largely unable to game at all. :( If I do get crazy and try later this weekend, I'll be socking some time into Chronicles of Spellborn, Runes of Magic, or EverQuest II. I'd play some Age of Conan too, but I know with the hurt wrist impacting playtime right now, I would never make it past Tortage by the time the 7 days of trial was up. Hopefully they'll do a welcome-back weekend for those with accounts that I can check out later.
- Kyle Horner: Age of Conan will be my weekend getaway, and that's about it for me this week. I know, I'm boring!
- Lemuel Pew: I've got a new Defender in City of Heroes that needs some love. And by love, I mean badges.
- Shawn Schuster: I will also be experiencing some Age of Conan, thanks to the new 7-day free trial. So far so good! Plus, my kinship in LotRO is determined to finally get this alt-a-holic up to level 60 on one character (I'm 59), so we'll see how that goes!
