WRUP: Happy birthday edition
As with most things, here at Massively we say goodbye to the week and hello to the weekend with as many MMOs as possible. And as with most weekends, we're all over the map as to what we're playing! But while we're going to have to agree to disagree on the subject of favorite games, PvP vs. PvE, or any of dozens of similar questions, everyone does seem to be in agreement on two facts:
- It's Brooke's birthday.
- He ought to have a happy birthday, even if we can't agree on our favorite MMO.
So a happy birthday to Brooke (in-game and out!) and a happy un-birthday to everyone else! And if you're curious as to what the Massively team is up to this weekend — or just want to chat about your own weekend gaming plans — read on!
- Brendan Drain: This weekend, and for the first time in months, I actually have some time to myself. Aside from my usual EVE gameplay, I'll probably slot in some Team Fortress 2 and a bunch of Star Trek episode re-runs. Then it's right back into the remainder of my university work.
- Brooke Pilley: My birthday weekend will be celebrated with some drinks, a BBQ, the new Wolverine movie, and a real life Hold 'Em tournament. If I get any gaming in, it might be a little WAR and EVE!
- Craig Withers: Sadly, I'll be playing overtime, all day tomorrow, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday, :( Please direct your sympathy to: Craig Withers, c/o Work, Edinburgh.
- Dan O'Halloran: The Moria expedition continues in Lord of the Rings Online. On tap for this weekend, finishing off the questlines around the Waterworks, Durin's Gardens, and wrapping up the last of the quests just outside Moria in Eregion. Apparently I get to save Bill the Pony from ravenous wolves. I always enjoy when I can directly interact with elements from the books.
- James Egan: So, this weekend, I suspect I'll be writing a lot but there's always time for a few Team Fortress 2 rounds, and MMO time will of course be EVE. If the weather clears up I might level up in Fresh Air or work on my Mountain Biking xp, but guess I'll have to see what happens.
- Krystalle Voecks: Another weekend of almost no gaming for me. I've got several local things to do this weekend, need to post the Dragon*Con MMO podcast tomorrow afternoon, and catch up on work outside of that. What little time I do have I'll most likely be in FreeRealms playing clicky mini-games.
- Kyle Horner: This weekend is all about City of Heroes and Left 4 Dead for me. It's a good combination.
- Lemuel Pew: Out of the complete blue, I received an email today from Ghosts of the Revolution, my old Planetside outfit. I think I owe it to myself to log in and give it another go, seeing as no game has come close to replacing it these days. Otherwise, I just created a new character and started a new supergroup in City of Heroes on Virtue, I'm eager to keep working on that new team. Outside of MMOs, free Left 4 Dead trial on Steam, with a 40% discount to buy? Don't mind if I do!
- Lesley Smith: I'm not playing anything but I am watching a lot of TV. My little niece is due so I'll be waiting by the phone to hear from my brother.
- Tim Dale: Probably a bit of Lord of the Rings Online, to get in a level or two before another crack at our Monday Group's overly ambitious attempt to escort Legolas through Book 4, Chapter 8 – a pox on escort missions in all their unholy forms! Also another Sunday evening with the Tuesday Noob Club's novelty Paragon-Only team in Guild Wars, which works far better than it should.
- William Dobson: I will be playing a bit of Fable 2, and I might log some more time on the Spellborn character I created last week.
So, do tell. What are you playing this weekend?
