One Shots: A first taste of large-scale battle
As someone who is only recently back to the skies of New Eden, I can totally relate to Phyara Nexar's feeling of wonder in terms of the first time being a part of a large group operation in EVE Online. It's truly one of those moments that really makes the game fun. But enough about my take on it – here's what Phyara Nexar of the "Out-of-Space" corp in the Guardian Federation alliance had to say about this image, and the experience: This is a screenshot from my first huge fleet battle. We were on our way to the rally point for a battle between the Northern Coalition (we, the good guys) and Triumvirate/White Noise (the meanies ;) ), waiting for the Fleet Commander to give the order to jump through the gate.
Too bad I wasn't able to participate in the fight later on, as the solar system was just too full of players. I saw 750+ players out there in local chat, but my grid wasn't loading, so I was stuck for hours while the others were fighting against each other and against the enormous lag. Later the node crashed at least 2 times due to the mass of players. The fight was in E-7U8U in the Venal Region. I hope you enjoy this screenshot. I like it very much because of the lights and all those ships, waiting to get to the battle.
