VC Friday: Zoda's Revenge on Art Style: BOXLIFE

This week, our neighbors across the pond finally get the very excellent Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II. We've had a blast with it ever since it released way back in December, and now you all finally get to see what all of the fuss is about. Trust us, this game is very, uh, fussable.

Virtual Console

  • Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Cult favorite StarTropics' sequel, Zoda's Revenge, picks up the story where it left off. You really need to play the first game before diving into this.

  • Bomberman '94 (Hudson, TurboGrafx16, 1 - 5 players, 700 Wii Points): The block-bombing antics of Bomberman return to the Virtual Console in this excellent game. If you don't like Bomberman, we suggest you check to see if you have a soul.

WiiWare

  • 5 Spots Party (Cosmonaut Games, 1 - 4 players, 500 Wii Points): This is like those spot-the-difference games you see at the bar. For the full experience, we suggest you invite a bunch of strangers over to pay too much money for water-down drinks and put obnoxious music on the stereo.

  • Karate Phants: Gloves of Glory (Snap Dragon Games, 1 -2 players, 800 Wii Points): This is a one-on-one fighting game, based on a popular German comic and television series, Die Ottifanten. So, we guess Germans love two things: David Hasselhoff and karate elephants.

DSiWare

  • Art Style: BOXLIFE (Nintendo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): The latest Art Style game looks to inject a bit of fun into the boring activity of making boxes. Players take pieces of paper and fold them into boxlike structures for points. We imagine Edward James Olsmos is great at this game.
