WRUP: Code Monkey edition
While our bosses are away, the geeks will play – MMOs that is! With our Super Editrix, Elizabeth Harper at San Diego ComicCon, and our fearless leader Shawn Schuster out running that Life instance we've heard about, the rest of us are left to our own particular devices. This means it is time for a well-deserved bit of gaming after serving up all the news that's worth putting into print, or in my case, helping to code a Massively side-project that you'll see a bit later on today. Read on for what the monkeys here are up to, as well as answering What aRe yoU Playing!
Kyle Horner: (@Kylehorner) I'll be working on the results for Create My Champion over the weekend in beta, as well as playing more of Champions Online. I'll also be reading Best Served Cold, because Joe Abercrombie and his books are awesome. Oh yes, and I'll be working with my newly acquired Eberron Campaign Guide for D&D 4th Edition. Dark fantasy noir with a little bit of steampunk, MmmMmm.
Lesley Smith: (@lesleysmith) I'm going out on Saturday for dinner with my Parental Unit after exploring even more of Norfolk. Unfortunately, I'm working Sunday and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday... you get the idea. I'm in the middle of re-launching my work website and this involves data entry.... Four years worth! Argh, save me!
Lemuel "Lemmo" Pew: (@lemmo) The temptation to resubscribe to City of Heroes is great, but I think I'll hold off until Issue 16 launches. That means this weekend will mostly be playing in betas and killing time in Free Realms, wishing I were playing Jumpgate: Evolution.
Brooke "Snafzg" Pilley: I plan to spend this weekend taking my message GLOBAL — and I will indeed have an AGENDA! I will dub this trial run, GLOBAL AGENDA BETA! Plug your ears lest they be blown...
William Dobson: First up on my list of activities for the weekend is to go and see Drag Me To Hell — don't you just love old gypsy-lady curses? Gaming will consist of Free Realms (paid for a membership when trying it last weekend) and giving Too Human's online co-op a go with a friend on the Xbox 360.
Brendan "Nyphur" Drain: (@nyphur) After an action-packed week in Sleeper space in EVE Online, I'm sitting down to write up the experience as my column post this Sunday. It should make for a good read! I'm also working on a personal game design project and trying to download the massive Age of Conan client to get a few days out of the two week reactivation.
Seraphina (Colin) Brennan: (@sera_brennan) This weekend is really up in the air for me. There will be Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition, and there will probably be some Darkfall thrown in there too, but I think that new game, Outside (TM), sounds like a good idea. A couple friends already threw some invites my way, and I think I may take them up on their offers.
Krystalle "netgoth" Voecks: (@Krystalle) I started the weekend off by going to the VNV Nation show here in Tampa, which set the bar pretty high. To follow up, I figure I'll spend some time in EVE Online running T2 missions in my Hurricane with friends, and check out some more Age of Conan before my time runs out. Oh, I'll also be waiting patiently for a Global Agenda beta key to show up in my inbox so I can play with my friends who all seem to have gotten in without me.
