WRUP: Quest for the weekend edition

We've quested through another long and tiresome work-week to make it to the weekend beyond. And what is this weekend filled with? Games, games, and more games! It's time to get our MMO on.

...okay, we're sorry about that last line — it was a mistake, written in a moment of uncreative weakness, and we'll never do it again. Or at least we won't do it again until we've forgotten we used it in the first place — but either way, you're safe for a while. But regardless of our word-related failings, it's the weekend, and that's time to play games. So what is the Massively team playing this weekend? What are the Massively readers playing this weekend? Read all about it, onward...

  • Brendan Drain (@nyphur): I've just moved into a new house with two of my best friends and have a pile of writing work to catch up on. This entire weekend will just be solid work, the closest I'll get to gaming is interviewing people in EVE for an EON article on 0.0 warfare.
  • Dan O'Halloran: Running Icecrown 5-man Forge of Souls in WoW on Friday night with my usual crew of misfits. BTW, "let's keep throwing our corpses at the boss until our armor turns red" is not a viable tactic. Also will be running more Skirmishes in LotRO to try out pairing a Protector Soldier with my Lore-master. And digging deeper into Mirkwood while playing catch up with the Lothlorien content (mostly just to get the Swift Travel option to the area).
  • Eliot Lefebvre: Aside from various Christmas-related ventures, this weekend is reserved for the glory that is WoW's new grouping system. It's also time for me to start checking out Alganon, on which I am currently reserving judgment.
  • James Egan: I've been doing a fair bit of region trading in EVE which is doing wonders for keeping my account active with PLEX. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 will also get some play time.
  • Kyle Horner (@kylehorner): Champions Online for me this weekend, as I'm feeling the need to pound villainous foes as a giant hulking cyborg frog. I'll also be drinking a bit, so I should be careful not to drink so much as to actually think I'm a giant cybernetically enhanced frog hulk and beat on my roommates — that would be unfortunate.
  • Rubi Bayer: More LotRO! Also, LotRO. And City of Heroes — I'm loving it. And LotRO.
  • Seraphina Brennan: This weekend is writing and roleplaying, with a viewing of Fantastic Mr. Fox thrown in this evening. Gamewise it looks to be some Champions Online, so perhaps I will see about hooking up with Mr. Kyle Horner and doing some superheroic saving while I laugh at Kyle's superheroic drinking. It's super!
  • Shawn Schuster (@SSchuster): I'm staying pretty dedicated to Fallen Earth and the Allods Online beta lately. I'm also joining Eliot in some Alganon first impressions, so I've been exploring that game quite a bit to see what it's all about. Other than that, I'm hoping to polish off the Christmas shopping once and for all.
  • Tateru Nino (@taterunino): Well, a gigabyte of bandwidth disappeared somewhere overnight, so no online gaming. Savage restrictions on Internet usage until we can catch back up. That's a couple days worth right there. Bandwidth caps really put a crimp in things.
  • Tracey John (@TraceyJohn): Jumping into WoW for some 3.3 goodness as I write this. I also plan to play more Borderlands and Torchlight as well as try a few other titles (new Zelda DS, The Saboteur) that I've been meaning to get to.

And now, gentle reader, why don't you tell us — what are you playing this weekend?
