WRUP: We're not playing Star Trek Online edition

We hate to tease, dear readers. So to the poor unfortunates who are not in STO's beta, let's simply assure you that we're not out learning to pilot starships or picking fights with Klingons. Of course not. It would be terribly unkind of us to brag about these things to an audience out in the cold. We'll just be sitting around Massively HQ all weekend playing the same old MMOs — really, it's hardly worth even posting about is it? Probably not even worth the bother of clicking through to read the rest of this post.

...are they gone?

Good. Because, well, a few of us might be in the beta. And those of us who aren't? Well, we're pretty darned jealous of the ones who do. But with less than two months to the game's official launch, there's not much longer to wait.

  • Eliot Lefebvre: Every week I respond and I wind up getting to do exactly the opposite of what I say here. That being said? I am not going to enjoy WoW and CoH on my brand new Alienware machine with new cable internet, and I am most certainly not going to indulge in the first Sims 3 expansion pack and a gifted copy of Batman: Arkham Asylum. I don't even know how to start explaining how much I'm not going to get prepped for a Fallen Earth trial.
  • James Egan (@jamesegan): I'll be trading in EVE again as I have been. It hasn't been very time intensive at all but I'm still earning quite a bit of ISK with this so far, easily enough to stay current with PLEX and fund Recon and HAC purchases. I've also got some new rigs I want to try out on my Pilgrim this weekend at some point. I keep saying I want to jump back into TF2 and check out the Demoman/Soldier stuff, but just haven't done it yet. I will, hopefully, but after the Spy update (which had me playing all night and until noon the following day) the newer content just hasn't grabbed me. If this weekend's snowstorm isn't too bad there will be a party I'd like to check out, where I have no doubt there will be L4D2 and Halo 3/ODST being played.
  • Krystalle Voecks (@Krystalle): This weekend is going to be jam-packed. Just landed a spot in the Star Trek Online beta, and a group of Twitter friends and I are playing EverQuest II again. Beyond that, holiday parties are the order of the day, so heavens only knows how much gaming time I'll actually manage to get.
  • Kyle Horner (@Kylehorner): Star Trek Online. I've said too much. *beams out*
  • Seraphina Brennan (@sera_brennan): Driving home for the holidays and helping my parents get everything set up for Christmas. But, before that, tomorrow is a last hurrah of board games (probably Arkham Horror or something of that nature) and chilling with friends before the big drive back on Sunday. Looks like no MMOs for me this weekend, too many other things to do!
  • Shawn Schuster (@SSchuster): I'll be checking out the Star Trek Online beta and enjoying the changes in Free Realms after the recent content update. I am the coolest dad on the block because I got my daughter a pony for her birthday. And a Triceratops.
