The Tattered Notebook: Sentinel's Fate aftermath and advice pt. 2

I'm not getting any experience, my experience bar is broken

Remember to slide your alternate advancement slider down to zero, away from 100, before you begin questing. Many people are forgetting to do this, so I thought I'd toss in another reminder. If you don't, then all of that precious exp will go to your AA bar.

I'm lagging, what should I do

Don't always jump to the last instance listed, if the zone is breaking into multiple instances. Instead, stay in your zone and wait for the computer to create more instances. A new instance will be created once a zone hits 50 players. This will help even out the player load and create a non-laggy situation for everyone. If you jump around like a jackrabbit, the computer can't predict where the load is and may stop making new instances.

Remember to check your statistics

Another big burn is the fact that SOE has changed around what some of the statistics do for all of the classes. Check your statistics to make sure you're emphasizing the right stats, as you may no longer be putting points into the right things. Here's a handy list to see how the stats affect each class archetype. And yes, they heard you, it sucks.

Not all doom and gloom

While the list of complaints goes on, everyone seems to agree that the questing and design of Odus is the most beautiful of the three continents. At least we have pretty things to look at while things go wrong, right? Right. Plus, everyone seems to really enjoy the new crafting questlines, and the dungeons in general (although people are saying they're too easy.)

But, as time marches on some of these issues will most likely be addressed. So just stay calm, submit your constructive feedback on the forums, and try your best to continue playing.

The community forum thread of the week — The Alternate Advancement Calculator

This week's community forum thread is a great tool that still needs a little tweaking, but will most likely become a very handy resource.

Talent calculators are common in some other lands, but not so common in Norrath. Well, adventurer Beetny2 has used his expertise to put together a visually accurate AA calculator, equipped with saveable class specializations and more. While currently it doesn't update the statistics on an advancement as you put points into it, it does give you a nice visual representation of where you're spending all of those precious AA points.

The AA calculator works for all of the classes, so give it a shot and prepare for the future today.

Now, if you can excuse me, I hear a mug of ale calling my name. Thank you, land of Odus, for pulling everyone out of the bars and to your shores. You've given me blessed silence as I drink.
