One Shots: Another day at the office

When it comes to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, superheroes may have the option of having day jobs, but they never really quit being super-powered. Thankfully, that can be really handy when your everyday office building gets invaded! Today, we have a great City of Heroes screenshot for you from occasional One Shots contributor, Redwense, who also decided to send along a short story about what's going on in this action-packed screenshot. So, we'll note here that if you'd like to send in a screen, just email it to us here at oneshots AT massively DOT com along with your name, the name of the game, and a description -- or story -- of your own! With that, we'll turn today's column over to Redwense. Be sure to read the rest after the break!

"Think fast, Cal!" A thunderous crack caused the narrow office corridor to rattle, as Captain Denmark's shield collided with the jaw of a ten-foot werewolf, sending it flying through the air. Lady Caliber stepped aside just in time to avoid getting crushed. She
pointed her pistols at the fallen werewolf and fired a few tranquilizer bullets for good measure.

Jak Diamond and Mental Prowess did what they could to contain the situation, the former striking with more forethought than the Captain and the latter sustaining telekinetic force fields. The paintings on the walls alone were going to cost a fortune to replace. Collateral damage was always a problem to the authorities.

"Play. DEAD!" Captain Denmark roared, striking two more werewolves with a flurry of punches. "Dead, as in: unconscious." He added.

She did not know why, but Lady Caliber felt compelled to reply with her own clever remark: "And I thought I could load my pistols with lethal ammunition."

"Not on my watch, you don't!"

Lady Caliber wondered if the Council found the casual "hero banter" insulting to their combat prowess. In less than five minutes, the villains were all knocked unconscious to possibly even care.
