WRUP: Not playing Split/Second edition

As is the case every week, the Massively staff is taking the opportunity to play a wide variety of video games this weekend, which does not include the racing game Split/Second. Whether or not staff members own it, not a single one is planning on firing up the game for even a single course. Neither power plays nor route changes await us. Thus, for the remainder of the article after this introductory paragraph, there will not be a single further mention made of the game, because we are not playing it.

So what are we playing? Many other games, ranging from old favorites to recently-launched titles, all of them with their own points of interest. Some of us are shooting cowboys, some of us are returning to a land where several guilds are engaged in some sort of fracas, and some are simply taking the opportunity to farm. Click on past the break for the specifics of this weekend's gaming itinerary.
Beau Hindman (@spouseaggro): I will be returning to some Fallen Earth as well as continuing to check out Craft of Gods. I am also attempting to carve out an existence in FrontierVille, but it's tough. You can only clobber so many snakes before it gets to you. I'll also be playing with Mabinogi's new content, and will be farming in WURM. So much to do, so much to do!

Brendan Drain (@nyphur): In EVE Online, I'll be fiddling with the industrial networks I've set up on a few planets. So far I've been raising livestock and producing starbase fuel components. I'm not sure if I'm ruling with benevolence or tyranny but I'm definitely building cows.

Brianna Royce: It's a birthday weekend for me! My main goals include cheesecake and touring new apartments. But I hope to get in some SWG (my shop is almost ready!), and I'll be back in GW by nights (we made it to the Jade Faction Grind — I mean, Jade Sea).

Eliot Lefebvre: Aside from having a family function on Saturday morning, I want to curl up and enjoy some Guild Wars and City of Heroes, with the potential for some FFXI to spice things up. While I'm at it, I hope to get some time in working on my current novel project.

Greg Waller: I'll be playing a lot of WAR and possibly a bit of WoW. I might also fire up my old Aion account for a bit.

Jef Reahard: Playing some Age of Conan, naturally, maybe a smidge of Aion thanks to the double XP, and also dipping my toes in the World of Warcraft pool in order to hang out with an old friend. Other than, some Red Dead Redemption and inFamous are also on tap.

Justin Olivetti (@sypster): Extremely busy weekend, but I suspect I'll sneak a little LotRO in here and there — and try to convince my brothers in law to play the game this fall! I also snagged Fallout 3's Game of the Year edition from Steam for $25, so that's going on my list.

Patrick Mackey (@mackeypb): This weekend I'm getting absolutely furious at terran mech blobs (in StarCraft 2). It's kind of retarded and I'm hoping it gets patched. Watching people who make all the right decisions lose to a mech blob is just depressing.

Rubi Bayer (@Rubi_): I'll be focused on Guild Wars and DDO this weekend. I want to check out the latest War in Kryta update, and do a couple of quests in DDO that I missed out on during Nights of Eberron.

Ryan Greene (@thatgaynerd): I snagged a copy of Guild Wars Trilogy last week, so I'll be taking my first tentative steps into Prophecies this weekend. I'm also trying to amass some raid-tanking experience with my pally in WoW. I usually play a healer, so this is the first time I've ever really tried tanking in an MMO.

Shawn Schuster (@SSchuster): I'll be enjoying the double XP weekend in Aion and trying to play more of Red Dead Redemption's storyline without being distracted by side quests. Wish me luck!

Seraphina Brennan (@sera_brennan): This weekend is three things. One: APB. There is going to be much APB this weekend. Two: Mortal Online. I need to make sure I'm right with my first impressions so far, and that means braving this world (and this client) for a few more days. Three: Getting packed and ready to go to E3. That last one pretty much speaks for itself. :)

That's the rundown of what we're playing this weekend — but what about you? Are there games you are playing, or ones you are not playing for some reason? Let us know in the comments, and if you want, ask us a question to answer in a future edition of WRUP!
