Ripxx exercise GPS adds Mac OS support to its other EXTREME! qualities
New and improved Ripxx software is now Mac-friendly.
SPRING HILL, Tenn. – July 14, 2010 – Rippx Suite Version 2.1 is now Mac-friendly and available for free download. Athletes asked for Mac support, and Ripxx listened.
Originally released in December 2009, the Ripxx Personal Measurement Device has seen positive results over the six month period. However, Ripxx felt that the device could still use improvements to be even better. Many questions and comments were put into consideration when creating the new software. Ripxx wanted to stay on the cutting edge of technology by making the software convenient for Mac users also. Several Mac users had asked for the update, so Ripxx made it happen.
The new Suite Version 2.1 includes easy to use templates which make it user friendly, and several additional features to ensure the success of the athlete. Kurt Nichol, CEO of Ripxx, said "Athletes told us what they needed to get better and we delivered. All of the new features in the latest version of Ripxx are all features requested directly by athletes. We really feel like the Ripxx product adds another level of training that wasn't there before."
To improve the quality of the device, new features have been added:
* Full Mac Support
* GPS view, which does not require an active Internet connection
* Improved activity reports and graphs
* Lap time measurements
The Ripxx Personal Measurement Device is a small device about the size of a cell phone, used to improve speed and performance. It contains a suite of sensors, along with a GPS tracking chip that records every move the athlete makes. Location, orientation, acceleration, velocity, altitude, max speed, air time, lap time, and number of jumps can all be measured. Following the run, Ripxx software enables the athlete to view his or her performance and results as a 3D playback. In a sense, athletes are watching their own personal video game. The device can be used for training purposes, or even just bragging rights.
Athletes such as the U.S. Olympic bobsled and skeleton team, Teton Gravity Research athletes, and numerous other outdoor sports champions have been training and improving with the device. With the new and improved technology, athlete's results are endless.
