Exclusive: Hero: 108 Online releases third developer diary
The previous Hero: 108 Online developer diary gave us a peek at some tension within the ranks. The newest one gives us another picture of strife in the Hidden Lands, but it's going in a completely different direction: the Gamania offices.
We heard a brief mention of someone named HighRoller in the second dev diary, and this one gives us a closer look. HighRoller is an exiled court jester who has gained a dangerous power and is using it to wreak havoc in the Hidden Lands.

HighRoller's Revenge
Deep within the Hidden Lands lurks a terror the likes of which has rarely been seen. Small in stature with a penchant for sweets, this creature may seem harmless at first, but beware... the maniacal HighRoller is not to be trifled with.
Once a court jester to the Emperor, HighRoller made the egregious mistake of insulting the Hidden Lands' ruler. He was exiled from East Citadel and left to wander the forests, seething in ever greater hatred for the people that had cast him out. Eventually, his hatred grew to include all of humanity.
At that moment, a bolt shot out from the sky, striking him down in his tracks. Such a strong force would have ended others' lives, but HighRoller not only survived, he had gained a new power – the ability to understand the languages of all animals! When HighRoller discovered that the animals shared his love of sweets, he began to formulate a plan. He'd bribe the animals with all the sweets they could eat and in return, they would help him remove all humans from power... until HighRoller was the one supreme ruler of the Hidden Lands! Soon, the humans that had peacefully resided within each of the animal kingdoms were captured or driven from their homes.
The only force that can thwart HighRoller's tactics are the combined forces of Big Green's First and Second Squads and their allies. It is their mission to follow HighRoller's path of discord and try to restore peace to each of the animal kingdoms.
Though their efforts are valiant, HighRoller's power grows stronger with each passing day. His field of destruction now extends beyond the Hidden Lands and into our world as well!
His most recent attack occurred at the home of Hero: 108 Online, Gamania Headquarters. Together with the aid of the notorious Zebra Brothers -- Sparky Black and Sparky White -- HighRoller broke into Gamania's prize vault and stole a variety of items, including the remaining iPod nanos that were to be given away to Facebook friends of Hero: 108 Online.
When asked to comment about this situation, Hero: 108 Online staff member Tiramisu said, "We're still not sure how he was able to break in. We found no traces of finger or footprints outside the vault, but inside there were tiny hoof prints and a small set of human-looking footprints."
Fellow staff member, Mochi, added, "We'll be adding additional security measures in time for our next contest, but we're still concerned. We don't know for sure why we were the target of an attack."
Staff member Taiyaki offered this conjecture: "My guess is that HighRoller is targeting anyone who promotes the First or Second Squads. Since our game allows you to become one of those heroes and makes you fight against HighRoller and his subordinates, we're probably a very natural target."
