Windows Phone 7 review: Bejeweled Live

Bejeweled is destined to be on every video game platform ever: Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, iOS, your microwave, etc. So obviously, Windows Phone would be graced with its own version — albeit, one that adds no real new features except a $5 price point.

It's hard to imagine one being unfamiliar with the concept. You move gems around to create like-colored rows of three or more. Unlike many of the other puzzle games on Windows Phone (Hexic comes to mind), the game feels perfectly adapted for touch controls. In fact, it's far easier to control on the touch screen than its console counterpart.

There are Achievements, and there are Leaderboards, but it's hard to recommend when we've seen this game done so many times before. Perhaps a Windows Phone version of Puzzle Quest is needed — at least give us a version of Bejeweled that has a "gimmick" — something that will make us want to come back for more.
