Plenty of players were hearing and reading about things that they hadn't been aware of previously -- or even things that didn't exist! Follow along after the jump to see what's new (and new to you) this week in Global Chat!

Aventurine released a new video this week highlighting the environmental sounds in Darkfall as well as revealing some upcoming improvements the team plans to make. This was good news to Massively reader MMOaddict:

Thing is, the game has a heap of potential and has some very nice qualities. Enough to make me not regret my purchase and to keep checking back in with it every so many months to see how it is improving. I'm a huge audiophile and always felt Darkfall was lacking the sound factor, which matters immensely to my enjoyment of a game. This could be the tide that turns me into a diehard Darkfall fan!

ArenaNet is making a big push to reach out to smaller fansites lately, offering Guild Wars 2 interviews aplenty and revealing lots of fun new details. ArcherAvatar had some thoughts on how this fits into the long development cycle:

MMO development cycles are growing longer and longer out of necessity, and the paradigm for when and how the PR for these projects is started is changing as a result. It's a difficult adjustment for the gaming community to make, but we all have to get used to a longer buildup phase for the games we're looking forward to the most.

Prominent news site journalists deftly touching on this issue and easing awareness of the change into the mindset of the overall community is helpful to everyone involved. I also enjoyed the focus on the fansites, which help the more rabid followers of games to get through the long wait till the launch of the game they are waiting for. I know without my daily circle of blogs and fansites I'd be even worse off than I already am while waiting for GW2.

Finally, Mabinogi's addition of the Romeo and Juliet storyline appealed to quite a few readers. For Massively reader Zenn, it's just the latest in a string of changes and updates that make this game a true hidden treasure:

Quite a while ago it was terrible, because in order to do anything interesting, you had to pay for "premium service," which was essentially a $10 subscription added on while having to pay for cash shop fluff.

Now, though, a lot of that has been made free, and the game really is great. It's a bit slow to get into since there's a lot of content stacked in now and there's no strict path to follow like in most modern MMOs.

Once you play it for a bit and learn how the system works and really get a feel for the game, it truly is one of those missing jewels that you never found in the current haystack of MMOs.

We've heard what they've had to say, so now it's your turn! Did you miss out on one of these conversations? This is your chance to jump in and add your two cents.
