One Shots: Gloom and beauty

Lord of the Rings Online has center stage for today's One Shots, thanks to Massively reader Carolina. She's been doing some exploring in Mines of Moria and shared a screenshot with us:

I take a lot of screenshots from the environments in games, so I had a huge collection to choose one to send here. It was tough, specially since once I've read this week's theme, all I could think of was LotRO.

I decided to send this one from the Water-Works, inside the Mines of Moria, because I am still surprised how the developers were able to make such a complex setting, and at the same time beautiful without the "cliche" aspects that attract me in game environments: There are mostly no trees, no cute critters, no flowers, no sunlight, but yet they made the place so pretty and full of epic feel that I need to stop and look at every new corner I discover.
