Ask Massively: Some games I apparently just keep buying edition

I'm still not sure how I feel about the female protagonist's new music. But the important thing is that Lotus Juice is working.

During my week-long ordeal without power (or, you know, any of the other conveniences of the present century), Ms. Lady and I finally decided to spring for a PSP. It's a system that I've long been looking forward to owning, mostly so that I can pay for games that I already I own. Seriously. Sure, it's either an enhanced version (Persona 3 Portable) or old favorites that I can play on the go (Xenogears), but I'm still paying money to own games already in my collection.

And yes, I'm looking forward to buying a Vita just to buy a remake of Persona 4. This is apparently what I do now.

Moving along from my tendency to re-buy what I already own, it's time for this week's edition of Ask Massively. We're going pretty meta this time around, much like last week, talking all about avatars and cross-site issues. As always, questions can be left in the comments or sent to ask@massively.com for inclusion in a future edition.

RogueJedi86 asked: Joystiq's sidebar info for Star Wars: The Old Republic (seen on any article relating to it) has some outright wrong info, stating the two factions at war are the Galactic Empire and Sith Empire. It needs to be revised to say Galactic Republic instead of Galactic Empire. Could maybe one of the Massively guys change that since y'all are part of Joystiq now?

Yes. After a fashion.

First of all, to be a bit pedantic, we're not a part of Joystiq now; we always were. I've been here for two years, and we've always been tied to Joystiq and under the Joystiq aegis. The change to our URL is fairly recent (last year), but that's not indicative of a change in management. We're still in exactly the same place we've always been vis-a-vis Joystiq.

That having been said, we're trying to slowly shift more and more of the MMO coverage over to Massively, since the current site technology allows for Joystiq to easily put Massively posts up on the front page when it comes to relevant news. So we're working on getting everything lined up in a row for issues precisely like what you describe.

(And to be even more pedantic, it's eventually the Empire. Not for a really long time, but still.)

Utakata asked: How do I get a personal image for my avatar as others have done, instead of Massively's standard?

On the top of the page, to the far right, it should show your username if you're logged in. (If not, it'll prompt you to log in.) Clicking on your name will send you to your profile page, which gives you the option to upload a picture. An avatar that's 64x64 pixels is ideal for the site, so keep that in mind.

Fair warning: It's buggy. (As has been said before, unfortunately, we're not the coders and can't do much more than warn our readers regarding bugs.) Firefox seems to be the browser of choice for best results.

Mean Deens noted: The only thing that would have made the real-life Final Fantasy XI playing closer to reality would be if someone shouted back, "loldrg!"

Or if I spent my time chasing lizards around in a desert. But it was still close enough.
