'Aaaaa!!! for the Awesome' dropped on PC, Mac

Dejobaan Games and Owlchemy Labs have launched a "semi-sequel" to AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!!-- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, entitled AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome -- or just "Awesome" for short.

With the original game's code rebuilt from the ground up, the follow-up adds a "new lighting system and fancy shader effects," along with 43 new levels and the 82 levels from the original game. It's available on Steam for $9.99.

Officially, the game has only been announced for PC and Mac, but since Dejobaan teamed up with Owlchemy Labs on the project, the studio that created Snuggle Truck, an iOS version might drop in at some point.

November 23rd, 2011 -- Watertown, MA -- Indie studios Dejobaan Games and Owlchemy Labs have launched a "semi-sequel" to the award-winning "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! - A Reckless Disregard for Gravity" ("Aaaaa!" for short) for PC and Mac. This new title, "AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome" ("Awesome" for short) challenges players to BASE jump in remastered versions of the original game's 82 levels as well as 43 brand new ones. The game lists for $9.99 on Steam, and Dejobaan's launching with a 33% off sale to thank fans of the original. Check it out at www.dejobaan.com/awesome.

Aaaaa! took place in an alternate 2011, where BASE jumpers leapt from the skies and executed stunts around the floating buildings of Upper Boston. The semi-sequel picks up six years later -- the sport's been outlawed, and you're jumping as a form of protest. High in Earth's stratosphere, you'll thread a path through the rotating blades of enormous wind turbines. Elsewhere in the solar system, you'll dodge asteroids above seas of lava, spray graffiti onto lunar government offices, and flip off Ganymede colonists, all in the name of peaceful protest.

At its heart, Awesome is all about speed. With your new wingsuit, you'll dive (and die) twice as fast, descending through the hovering cities on Earth and beyond. The fastest jumps now offer checkpoints, so if you mash your brains against extraterrestrial rock, you can rewind time and execute the perfect dodge instead. All this is wrapped up in shiny new graphics -- rebuilt from the ground up, the semi-sequel brings you a new lighting system and fancy shader effects (which, let's face it, the AAA studios had a few years back, but bloom, shadows, and depth of field are all new for Aaaaa!).

Dejobaan's original, award-winning PC title was a 2010 IGF and 2010 Indie Game Challenge finalist; Penny Arcade selected the game for its 2010 PAX East Boston Indie Showcase; Metacritic singled it out as one of the top PC titles of 2009; and ModDB awarded it with its 2009 Editor's Choice Game of the Year.

Owlchemy Labs (makers of Snuggle/Smuggle Truck) is an independent game developer focusing in small, absurd, and highly polished game experiences for downloadable platforms.
