PlayMemories Studio lets you manipulate your memories on PS3 today

PlayMemories Studio, the new PS3-based software for editing HD video and viewing and sharing photo stuff, will be available on PSN today in North America. It's priced at $15, which is on the high end for PSN lifestyle apps, but on the low end for video editing software. It's also free for PlayStation Plus subscribers, or as a limited 30-day trial version.

Studio also supports Remote Play, if you'd like to be able to view and edit video remotely from your PSP or Vita, and introduce more portability and/or lag into the experience.

PLAYMEMORIES STUDIO™ AVAILABLE TODAY ON PLAYSTATION®NETWORK

PlayMemories Studio Allows Users to View, Organize, and Edit Videos and Photos on their PlayStation®3 Computer Entertainment System

March 27, 2012 – Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced PlayMemories Studio™ will today be available for PlayStation®Network users in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Taking advantage of the extremely high processing power of the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system, PlayMemories Studio allows users to freely navigate personal videos and photos, and edit HD video content in a fun, interactive user interface. The service can also be used remotely with a PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system or PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system utilizing RemotePlay (requires wireless connection). This new offering provides PlayStation platform users with unique abilities to manage and edit photos and videos directly from their PlayStation systems. Additional features of PlayMemories Studio for the PS3™ system include:

· Organize and View – In addition to videos and photos stored on the PS3 system, users can simultaneously view content stored on cameras, external hard drives and storage devices connected via USB without the need to transfer to the PS3 system. Users can also easily search and sort images by date or location.
· Edit – Users can add visual/sound effects such as slow motion and frame-by-frame playback and also insert captions and scripts to images.
· Share – Photos and videos can be uploaded to Facebook and support for PlayMemories Online is also being planned.

PlayMemories Studio will be available later today in the "Media & Apps" category of the PlayStation®Store for $15.00 and available for free to PlayStation®Plus subscribers and those that have purchased new Sony cameras and camcorders*. There is also a free 30-day trial version of PlayMemories Studio.

PlayMemories Studio is part of the PlayMemories series that provides an experience where personal content can be easily customized and enjoyed across multiple Sony products after it's captured. The PlayMemories series consists of four separate solutions: PlayMemories Online™, PlayMemories Home™, PlayMemories Studio™, and PlayMemories Mobile™ services, each designed for its own specific purpose, all accessible across the variety of Sony and third-party devices.
