Previously on MV TV: The week of May 5th

Previously On header image

Ah, early summer. The air outside is crisp and clear, filled with possibilities. And pollen, lots and lots of pollen. Let's all just avoid that mess and stay inside watching videos all day, huh? In fact, let's start with a series of really cool videos hosted by your favorite MMO site staff! Luckily for you, I have quite a few nice streams to show you this week. Last week's were good -- don't get me wrong -- but this week? This week will live on in your memory until the day you die.

We'll start with a bit of EVE Online and TERA gameplay hosted by Mike, then MJ takes over and shows us some EverQuest II, a chunk of Aion, and a batch of City of Heroes craziness. I square off things nice and neat with a visit to Glitch's new housing system. Be sure to bookmark our Livestream schedule page right here so you can follow what is happening in the world of Twitch.tv streaming each week.

Now click past the cut and get to viewing!

This week on the EVE Online stream, Mike had a close call with some nasty pirate rats. However, a little skillful flying (and a bit of luck) helped deliver him, his Cormorant, and its cargo to safety. In EVE Online, no one can hear you triumphantly shout "WOO!" after downing a particularly vengeful foe.

Mike grabbed his shield and took to TERA's first instance, the Bastion of Lok. There, he showed what it's like to tank bosses in TERA and also what it's like to be exceptionally bad at tanking bosses in TERA. Tune in for a glimpse of group mechanics, questing, and a brief rundown on what makes this game so darn cool.

EverQuest II days continued with MJ sharing her journey through Butcherblock Mountains to procure the most awesome of mounts: the leaper. Of course, having a leaper means you have to leap! So to show off the advantages of this mount, MJ played her variation of chicken/leapfrog with multiple mobs in different zones. Here comes Emyja kitty tail, hopping down the leaper trail, hippity hoppity...

The anticipation. The tensed muscles. The adrenaline pumping through her veins. The thrill of the... AFK opponent? So went MJ's first round in the PvP arenas. The 1v1 battle offered little excitement as MJ's apparent prowess completely scared off the Asmodian Sorceress facing her. *flex* However, someone apparently forgot to mention that prowess to the opponents in the next match, a 10-Daeva free-for-all. How well does MJ multitask reading chat and facing down nine other Daevas out for blood and AP? Check out the recap if you missed it the first time around.

Choose My Adventure Live continued this week with a short fashion show highlighting passersby, a quick demonstration of the tailoring option for changing appearance, and a jaunt into the famed XP farm Death From Below with a group of viewers. True to the name, MJ experienced death down below, timing it to coincide perfectly with the exploding death throes of the final boss. The XP was pretty fast, but MJ admits she'd never be able to farm the place repeatedly. What other gaming admissions does she make? You will have to watch to find out for yourself.

I hadn't planned on streaming any Glitch until the week after this one, but technical issues with the game I had planned on streaming opened up a chance to show off the new housing patch. Boy, let me tell you: It's a doozy. Not only can players customize almost every aspect of their houses and add on more room than ever, but the additions bring a new functionality to housing that has not been rivaled in many MMOs. Even if you have never played Glitch, you should watch this stream to see just how clever the little browser-based game really is.
