MV Guide: July 2 - 8, 2012

MV Guide is a weekly rundown of the MMO gaming events planned on Massively TV.

Every week, the Massively Stream Team logs in to play various MMOs live and in person, and we'd love for you to drop by the channel and visit. We have a combination of regular weekly games and new surprises each week, so you'll find a variety of titles to watch. During our streamed events, you can participate in the live chat, ask questions to learn about the game, or simply spend some time with Massively staff and readers. (Of course, streaming is subject to the whims of outside forces like server-side gremlins once in a while.)

Monday

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Ardwulf
Beau continues his look at some of the more popular MUDs out there by looking at Ardwulf, a classic if ever there was one. Will he find a great roleplaying game, epic adventure, or just sheer boredom? Who knows? Tune in to find out!

8:00 p.m. EDT: Mike -- EVE Online
Mike's quest for NPC mission dominance continues this week, with Level II Security missions. Join Mike (and his newly-redesigned Drake) as he storms into deadspace and stomps out the pirates that hide there. And, of course, the 100 million ISK bounty on Mike's Drake is still in full effect -- come and get it!

Tuesday

10:00 a.m. EDT: Richie -- SMITE
In a world full of ancient deities ready to do battle, one gamer rises to meet the challenge of the latest sensation from Hi-Rez Studios: SMITE. It's been a while since Richie played a multiplayer battle arena game, but he's been itching to show off his MOBA prowess. And by prowess, of course, we mean ineptitude. But nothing is more fun than watching Ra roast Zeus with a beam of solar energy, so this is sure to be an action-packed show.

8:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- The Secret World
It's finally here! Welcome to the world of secret organizations; MJ has been looking forward to launch for oh-so-many years and she is going to share it with you via livestream. Let's hope early access gives her enough time to make her character and be ready to get in game with you all!

9:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- EverQuest II
Even before expansions, EverQuest II introduced adventure packs. Too often these fun, themed areas get neglected if not totally ignored as players choose between all the different content. Join MJ as she plays through either Bloodline Chronicles or Splitpaw Saga -- tune in early and decide where she goes!

Wednesday

12:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- The Secret World
With character creation and the intro out of the way, it's time to really delve into the organizations. Join MJ as she listens to the stories offered by the citizens while wandering the streets of either Seoul, London, or New York. How many random blush-inducing scenes crop up in one short hour? You'll have to watch and see.


7:00 p.m. EDT: Mike -- World of Tanks
Mike once again dons his tank commander helmet and hits the torn battlefields of this free-to-play, combat-based MMO. Tune in to find out what it's like to drive a tank, poorly, and have your actions brutally punished by players with more skill and better gear. Mike's record for kills in a round is one -- perhaps he can break it this week!


10:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- City of Heroes
MJ can't help it -- she really misses the tights! As her super alter-ego (or is it just her super-ego?) Red Hairring, MJ is poised to vanquish the evils of Paragon City. Instead of questions though, she will fight the foes players have created. Join her as she selects a story arc from the Mission Architect and plays through some player-generated content.

Thursday

8:00 a.m. EDT: David "Psykopig" -- Star Wars the Old Republic
Thursday nights a great night for PvP! Join in this Thursday as Psykopig shows you why! The ups and downs of PvP are something Psykopig is becoming very familiar with and he knows just how to get you excited for it! Check it out this week, In the Sty!

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- RuneScape
Didn't make it into the beta for the new combat upgrade? Don't worry, Beau will be livestreaming his first look at all of the new stuff, and you can be there with him! If we're lucky, it won't break while Beau attempts to play.

9:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- Vanguard
Last week's grouping was fun, but this week would be even better if you join in! There are plenty of dungeons to choose from, even for level 10s. There are caves of spiders or gnolls, boats full of undead, and various areas crawling with trolls, wasps, lizardmen, and more. So join in the fun and merriment and become a star for an hour! Who is brave enough to group with MJ and take on a nefarious nest of evil? You wouldn't make her PUG again, would you?

Friday

5:00 p.m. EDT: Beau -- Free Realms
Hopefully by the time this stream comes around, the Gloam invasion will have been pushed off. If so, Beau will be exploring the new land! If not, it looks like we're in for some more Gloam squishing! Either way, this promises to be a fun stream.

8:00 p.m. EDT: MJ -- The Secret World
So much to do and so little time to do it all! Lore pieces to collect, NPCs to grill for information, towns to save from a zombie apocalypse, fight clubs to frequent... watch as MJ tries to fit it all in and experience as much as possible.

9:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- Vanguard
If you're wondering by now how Jeremy could still be showing off classes and races for Vanguard, you're in for a big surprise. This is just the tip of the iceberg as Vanguard has 15 classes to choose from. Sit back and enjoy a brief look at each class and how it plays. If Jeremy hasn't featured your favorite class yet, holler at him at the beginning of the stream. He just might take your suggestion.

Saturday

8:00 a.m. EDT: David "Psykopig" -- Fantasy Tennis
Bad MMOs are all around the internet, and (un)luckily for you, Psykopig makes a habit of attempting all of them. Bad MMO Days are back with a vengeance! This month, Psykopig tackles the beast that is Fantasy Tennis -- a children's MMO based around... tennis. Can Psykopig handle it? Will he have a more awkward moment than choosing a blood type in Hello Kitty Online? Tune in to find out!

9:00 p.m. EDT: Jeremy -- RIFT
This. Is. RIFT... Lite. Jeremy is jumping straight from the World of Warcraft trial edition to a RIFT trial account. What race and class should he take? What souls will he choose? Much of Jeremy's adventuring is up to you, so buckle-up to play back-seat driver.

Sunday

1:00 p.m. EDT: Blake Cripps -- Star Wars:The Old Republic
Blake is back for Lunchtime Livecast #22! The Allies update is here! What's new? What is important to you? Get your 1.3 questions answered during the show!
