They Bleed Pixels jumps from XBLIG to Steam

They Bleed Pixels, Spooky Squid Games' intense, lo-fi, collaboratively designed, combo-based platform action game, is moving from Xbox to PC, abandoning its planned XBLIG release in favor of Steam.

In the last year, Spooky Squid added more levels than were originally planned, and integrated Steamworks leaderboards, achievements, and cloud saves. There's no release date for the now-PC game. "We're just finishing up sound and squashing a few pesky bugs," said creative director Miguel Sternberg. "It's been a busy year and I think players will really appreciate the additional content and polish."

Originally planned for release last summer, the Spooky Squid team have spent an extra year polishing, creating additional levels and adding Steamworks features including leaderboards, achievements and cloud saving. Also shown in the trailer for the first time is a small preview of the game's detailed motion comic cutscenes. Through these wordless pixel art sequences They Bleed Pixels' story of a young girl haunted by otherworldly nightmares is revealed.

"We're extremely happy to be bringing They Bleed Pixels to Steam. Throughout development other game developers and players have told us that the game really deserves to reach a larger audience and the move to PC and Steam will do just that." says Miguel Sternberg, Creative Director at Spooky Squid Games. "For those waiting for the release date we're very close to being able to announce it. We're just finishing up sound and squashing a few pesky bugs. It's been a busy year and I think players will really appreciate the additional content and polish."
