Breakfast Topic: What's kept you playing WoW in the pre-Mists lull?
Or maybe you had your Cataclysm bucket list, some set of goals to complete before the Mists rose. Maybe those goals involved leveling alts, or earning gold, or getting Loremaster, or maybe it was collecting mounts or pets in preparation for the pet battles, or the account-wide mounts.
Me? Well, as ever, it was PvP that's kept me playing. PvP is, for me, what makes up much of the enduring content in a game. When all the raid bosses are long dead, there are still other players to kill, and they remain a challenge. Raid bosses only get easier, never harder, as a patch continues, what with nerfs and gear and the like, but other players gear up as you do. The difficulty is always there. And that's why I agree with those who say PvP is enduring content.
And I love this time in an expansion. Everyone's finally bored with raiding and wants to come and PvP with me! I like having people to play with.
So how about you? What, if anything, has kept your interest in Cataclysm's twilight hours?
