Nicki Minaj was there to introduce us to the Lumia 900 earlier in the year, and now Green Day has been drafted in to celebrate the launch of Nokia Music. Lumia-toting Americans were granted access to the free music streaming service a couple of days ago without much fuss, but the official party kicks off on September 15th at NYC's Irving Plaza . AT&T's also putting its name to the event, and if you head over to Green Day's Facebook page, you'll find instructions on how to get your chance to be there. Let's hope this one goes well for Nokia's marketing team, because if it's anything like that Lumia 920 embarrassment, they'll probably just want waking up when September ends.

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 6, 2012) - Nokia Music today announced Reprise Records' multi-platinum, Grammy® Award-winning band Green Day will perform an exclusive concert at Irving Plaza in New York City on Saturday, September 15th to celebrate the launch of Nokia Music. Earlier this week, Green Day, Nokia and AT&T announced that they have joined forces to launch Nokia Music, a new music streaming service offering consumers free and unlimited access to playlists and songs from a global catalogue boasting 17 million tracks.

Nokia Music is a mobile experience exclusive to Nokia Lumia handsets currently available at all AT&T stores. AT&T is the nation's largest 4G network. Consumers can stream unlimited music from a suite of over 150 exclusive playlists that are curated and kept up to date by an expert team of US based musicologists. The playlists span a wide spectrum of musical genres from underground Detroit house tracks to New York Philharmonic favorites.

Nokia Music also offers playlists created by global artists such as Green Day, who are an active part of the service curating their namesake playlists. Moreover, music fans can create their own personal soundtrack by selecting the Nokia Music 'CREATE' function that generates a playlist based on, and inspired by, the artists they love.

Fans will also be able to access three special playlists, curated by Green Day exclusively for Nokia Music and AT&T.

Green Day is currently preparing for the release of their trilogy of new albums -- Green Day ¡Uno!, Green Day ¡Dos!, and Green Day ¡Tré! -- on September 25th, 2012; November 13th, 2012, and January 15th, 2013, respectively.
