Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG

For a company built on old games, GOG is certainly keeping tabs on the current trends. Not only is it selling new indies (and Witcher games), now the retailer has announced its first pay-what-you-want bundle.

The bundle, available until October 18, provides Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, and Divinity 2 Developer's Cut for as much as you feel like paying. Provided it's at least $21 – early access to the Developer's Cut comes only at that level, and Beyond Divinity is similarly withheld for below-average payments.

"This year Larian celebrates the 10th anniversary of our Divinity RPG series, and we're happy to partner up with GOG.com in order to put the whole collection at the mercy of our community," Larian CEO Swen Vincke said. "We've always been thankful for the unceasing support that our players have provided over the years and we'll gladly welcome any and all newcomers!"

If you already love Divinity games and feel like paying a set price, Larian has also announced a Divinity Anthology box, with the same games and lots of extras.

Pay What You Want for Larian Studios Games on GOG.com

The first "Pay What You Want" collection in the history of the DRM-free digital distributor.

GOG.com, the prodigious provider of premium PC games, is proud to announce that for the first time in its history, a "Pay What You Want" bundle is available on GOG.com. This fantastic deal, prepared in close partnership with the well-liked developer of the Divinity series; Larian Studios, allows GOG.com gamers to pay as little (or as much!) as they want for the epic RPG adventures Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, and Divinity II - Developer's Cut. The bundle can be purchased at www.gog.com/divinity until 01:00 AM GMT, 18 October 2012.

The "Pay What You Want" bundle includes three challenging and addictive RPGs, as well as tons of downloadable goodies, including soundtracks, art-books and more. There are even some extra videos and rare content that may become available based on how many gamers support Larian's bundle on GOG.com.

Gamers can pay whatever they want to receive Divine Divinity along with all the goodies available on GOG.com. Paying more than the average that the community has paid also gets them Beyond Divinity with all the extras. Finally, the top 10% backers of the Larian Studios bundle are "top supporters" and will receive all three Divinity games including Divinity II: Developer's Cut, which includes the brand new Developer Mode. Play the original version or experience the game like the designers did and discover a whole range of spectacular developer commands that will make you feel like a wizard at play! Also included is Hatching the Dragon: a unique, behind-the-scenes documentary that gives you insights into the creative process of Divinity II: its ups and downs, its triumphs and defeats.

Further, GOG.com is involving the community in unlocking content and for everyone, depending on how many people buy into this special offer. Gamers will be able to unlock videos & even a never-before-seen E3 tech demo of "The Lady, the Mage, and the Knight," Larian Studios' first, unreleased, game which was abandoned in 1999. Check out the full list of what gamers will be able to unlock as they buy games from this collection at www.gog.com/divinity.

Anyone who purchases the full anthlogy on GOG.com will get early access to this re-mastered edition of Divinity II a day before it is released anywhere else!

Guillaume Rambourg, managing director of GOG.com, said: "Since the first day, GOG.com has placed its gamers in the number one spot: they're what's most important to us and they deserve the best games and deals we can get. We also believe that gamers know what the value of a game is, and we're giving them this chance to choose for themselves what they feel these fantastic RPGs are worth. Supporting an indie developer that makes great RPGs and getting games at a literally unbeatable price is a great combination, and we're sure that gamers will appreciate it too."
