Namco Bandai profits grow, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 sales strong

Namco Bandai showed almost universal growth in the first half of its fiscal 2013 (ending in September), with operating income for the full company at ¥27.75 billion ($345.88 million), up 176 percent from last year. Specifically for the Content Business, which includes game software, operating income rocketed up 375 percent to ¥20.136 billion.

The best-selling titles of the year included Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at 840,000 units in Japan and Europe (it was not yet out in North America as of the end of the period), Soulcalibur 5 at 680,000 – it's sold 1.38 million overall, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations at 550,000, Taiko Drum Master 3DS at 270,000 in Japan only – it would be more if you released it worldwide, Namco, just saying – and SD Gundam G Generation Over World on PSP at 260,000.
