One Shots: A fool's game

One Shots A fool's game

That's one big chicken, Scott. A big chicken indeed. Why do you need a chicken that big? Should we alert the authorities about animal abuse? Is this a Scandinavian Thanksgiving ritual? Are you attempting to prove the Rooster Road Theorem?

Perhaps I should let Scott explain: "I was recently informed you guys brought back One Shots. Well, here I am bringing you three one of my escapades in Guild Wars 2. Here, Nerrath's found dinner! You guys may or may not remember the several screenshots from Champions Online's Legion of Laughter that made it into the previous iteration of One Shots. Well, we're still going strong on the Crystal Desert server as the Order of the Fool!"

Feast your eyes on Scott's chicken and more after the break.

Taking a break from tasty fowl, Rebecca brings us one of the many tropical scenes from Telara: "I recently returned to RIFT, and upon seeing this view in Ember Isle, I had a yearning to drink a piña colada on the beach with my buddy elemental, Hunkomanlove."

See? Just because you're a rampant virtual serial killer doesn't mean you can't stop once in a while and take a vacation!

Carolina is bringing the me-ow back to gaming with her feline superhero: "Here is my kitty-cat hero in DC Universe Online. It's always a relaxing game to break stuff or just glide around, as she's an acrobat."

As a dog-lover myself, I have to admit that there would be a conflict of interests if a cat hero saved me from certain death. On one hand, thank you kindly and you're my savior. On the other hand, really big hairballs.

Holden has an entry from an MMO many of us might never have heard of: Continent of the Ninth Seal. I have to admit, it's a good-looking game if this picture is any indication.

"The background for this shot is that I finally talked one of my friends from real life into trying out the game," Holden writes, "but he had some problems getting the game working. So I decided to curl up by the town well and take a nap. Eventually my friend got the correct client downloaded and was figuratively floored by how awesome C9's gameplay is."

That's it for this week! Keep your best screenshots and stories rolling in, and remember -- there are other games than Guild Wars 2. I've seen 'em. Promise.

Want to be featured in a future edition of One Shots? Send your favorite MMO screenshots to oneshots@massively.com, and don't forget to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of the scene. Large, colorful, UI-free shots that tell a story and really show off the game make for the best images. Look ma, we brought back One Shots!
