LG Optimus G: Bell and Rogers have released an update for LG's premiere smartphone that brings improved touchscreen responsiveness while the device is charging and introduces tweaks to the email setup routine. Security fixes from Google are also on deck with this one. [MobileSyrup]
Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery
HTC One X: Custom ROMs based on Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4+ are now available for the AT&T / Rogers variant of this smartphone. The ROMs are by and large based on international releases for the One XL. Android Central brought our attention to one particular ROM that features a near-stock build, along with Superuser and the file manager from CyanogenMod 10. [Android Central]
CyanogenMod 10.1: A new wave of nightly builds of this custom ROM are now available for a number of handsets and tablets, which brings access to Android 4.2.1. Among the eligible devices, you'll find the Nexus S / 4G, Transformer Pad 300, Galaxy S III (Verizon, Sprint, MetroPCS and US Cellular), Captivate, Iconia Tab A700, Galaxy S II (AT&T), Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II (international). HTC 8X: HTC announced this week that Rogers subscribers would be treated to an immediate deployment of a software update that brings SMS improvements, battery optimizations and WiFi fixes. The update will be made available to subscribers of Bell at a later date. [MobileSyrup]
