Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • HTC One X: UK-based O2 has released HTC's Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and Sense 4+ update for over-the-air installation. The software weighs in at approximately 365MB. [Android Central]

  • ASUS PadFone 2: Build 10.4.9.6 is now available with a hefty number of software improvements for the WWE version of this smartphone. Among the enhancements, you'll find a 7-day weather forecast, better video playback and improved HDR capture, along with power management and system stability refinements. [Android Police]

  • Samsung Galaxy Camera: Individuals in the UK report than an update to Android 4.1.2 is available, which introduces the same gallery app that's found on the Galaxy Note II. [Phandroid]

  • Samsung Galaxy Note II: The Multi-Window update is now available for US Cellular subscribers. The software also brings fixes for burst capture, network connectivity and search functionality. [Phone Arena]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • AOKP: If you have a thing for unicorns, you'll be glad to know that the first official Android 4.2 builds of AOKP are now ready for consumption. As it stands, only the Galaxy Nexus (HSPA+ and Verizon), Nexus 7 (WiFi) and Nexus 4 are eligible for the latest release. This build includes a long list of customizations, and the team will now turn its effort to porting the software to other devices. [RootzWiki]

  • CyanogenMod 10.1: Nightly builds of this Android 4.2-based ROM are now available for the Optimus Black, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy S III (Cricket). [Android Police 1, 2, 3]
