WRUP: How's that honeymoon doing?

WRUP How's that honeymoon doing

It's always a little funny when new patches come out. You start off just loving it... new stuff, new challenges. But then you get bored and start hating life. So, how about you guys? Is the honeymoon over?

Join our staff by telling us how you feel about the new patch in the comments. And, of course, read on in What Are You Playing to see what we're doing this weekend!

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'll hopefully be spending the weekend on my new server. If not, then I'll be spending the weekend not really logging into WoW aside for dailies. As for 5.2 -- I love the patch, I love the content, I haven't really gotten bored with anything yet. However, the re-structuring and subsequent splintering of my guild has put a bit of sadness over the whole thing. On the other hand, the Isle of Thunder is tremendously entertaining, and every time I see a tree or structure struck by lightning I stand there marveling and hoping it will happen again because it looks really, really pretty.

Brian Wood (@FrostheimWHU) Working on the valor grind this weekend, filling orders at the farm, and hoping to improve my treasure room performance. Also hoping to steal some time to put together the Big Red Pet hunter song and get it released.

I'm still pretty pleased with patch 5.2, despite yet more rep to grind.

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) I'll be heading overseas for a two-week business trip starting this weekend, so any game time will be determined by what internet access is available (not expecting much). Now that pet battles give XP, I've been slowly leveling some alts using that, which has been pretty entertaining. Bonus: I think they should've made 2 of 3 5.2 daily hubs open each day and rotated them; even though the actual quests rotate a bit, I'm still going Saurok->Trolls->Mogu every day. I want to spend more time on the Isle of Giants, though, that's pretty fun. Oh, and I'd REALLY like it if they figured out how to make Valor of the Ancients go account-wide, rather than server-wide.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) Hitting up some LFR tomorrow, as well as a little Endless Space and maybe trying to see if Tomb Raider's multiplayer matchmaking can scrounge up more than just myself to play against.

I'm pretty indifferent about 5.2 so far. It's nice to get a bunch of coins through the Isle of Thunder dailies, meaning I don't have to do other dailies, but I haven't really found anything that's made me go "Oh boy!" yet.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I'm pretty busy this weekend, but I do want to try to get through at least a couple more missions in Heart of the Swarm single player. I also still need to take an afternoon and just do a whole bunch of Mantid Archaeology, and I'm thinking of aiming for Saturday, since it's the last non-busy afternoon I'll have for at least a week. As far as the bonus question goes, Eh. I have to admit the dailies are getting a little old already. If I have to track down those damn lion statues one more time I'm gonna lose it. To be fair, I think part of my problem is probably because I miss getting an awesome new side mission every other day during patch 5.1. And plus it's more fun to fight Orcs and Goblins than Blood Elves. Elves should be Alliance damn it. Also, there's too much trash in the raid this time around. And I am so over unlocking VP gear via factions. So over it. You don't even know. So uh. I guess there's no really a Honeymoon going on anymore, per se, it's true. On the plus side, I'm liking the raid bosses so far.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) I'll do dailies over the weekend, but only between some writing I want to get done. I'm content with the new quests, given that they're quests and I hate questing. Other than that it's a bit hard to be sick of anything related to the patch though because my Internet has been so bad that I haven't been able to experience much of it. New Internet on Monday, huzzah!

Elizabeth Harper (@faience) I have a cold and only have the mental acuity to play my hunter alt. I definitely don't have the mental acuity for that bonus question, but I am accepting any home cold remedies people feel like sharing...

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) A bit of Skyrim, a bit of working on reps for me. I'm not bored with the patch yet because I've barely done any of the new stuff.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) working on a custom sculpt for a model that hasn't had a re-work since 1995, because I have space to do all that now. Also, the first batch of Lodur's Lager is being brewed and we'll see how well I do at that game. In game I'm still working on getting my rep up through better farming, championing and dailies.

Bonus: Honestly i'm still really enjoying this patch. My only complaint is that I still think areas like the courtyard directly in front of the raid portal should be sanctuary on PvP servers, but that's about it. Still loving the dailies, loving the new raid and overall still just loving the feel of patch 5.2.

Kristin (@kristin) I've been raiding ToT and... enjoying it? The new raid is challenging, but fun, even for a tank. I don't feel like the patch came too quickly anymore and my playtime is filled with new dailies I don't really hate. It must be that honeymoon feels.

Lisa Poisso (@lisapoisso) My partner in crime just came back to WoW, so not only is the honeymoon not over, but everything old is new again!

Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) Tired of the dailies already. Actually, I'm just tired of dailies in general. I can't bring myself to do them everyday. Trying to pace it in such a way where I don't want feel too exhausted with the game. The new raid would be fun from a simple playing standpoint. I'm mostly getting headaches from processing and quarterbacking all the new encounters. Theoretically, that should get easier with time. Always rough in the opening weeks.

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) New guild, so... no idea. I may be raiding Sunday.

I didn't get a honeymoon because my guild imploded and then, after we managed to save it, it imploded again.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I need to go back to playing some more Skyward Sword, I haven't touched that all week. Also need to run LFR and get close to the valor cap sometime this weekend. So much to do!

Bonus: I'm really not a fan of the Court of Bones dailies, for some reason, but otherwise I haven't been hit with dailies malaise yet (despite the quantity of them). Give it another week.

Megan O'Neill (@slowpoker) I've actually been switching it up by doing my dailies as destruction, which is loads of fun in the Court of Bones. Alternatively, I can solo most of the dinos on the Isle of Giants, so I got a spectral porcupette. To address some burnout I'm feeling in the raiding PvE end, I'm kicking back with some pet battles. Bonus: I have alts to relearn or level, so there's always something new. The honeymoon is never over for me.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I'm playing nothing at all this weekend, I'm in Sweden with the boyfriend, going on a little trip up the coast and taking a break from all things WoW!

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) Like Lisa, my loot addict of a significant other has returned to the game. So I'm doing dailies with him when not trying to get a monk up to end game as quickly as possible. I'll also be working on planning another scavenger hunt for It came from the Blog. Stay tuned for more details. Bonus: 5.2 would be a lot more fun if my 90s weren't both dressed in tissue paper and trying to hit with wooden clubs. But I don't want to spend the time outfitting them when my monks (one on each server I play on) will become my mains.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) I haven't touched 5.2 content yet; I have to play on a wireless connection for various reasons and I'm still nervous that it won't hold up to the new-patch traffic. I am getting a little envious of my guildmates talking about all their Isle of Thunder adventures so I might mosey on over there this weekend and beat up some Horde.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
