BlizzCon ticket purchasing tips

BlizzCon tickets go on sale on April 24 at 7pm Pacific time, and again on April 27 at 10am Pacific. Apart from the usual tactics of getting your parents, cousins, and all your friends to refresh the ticket sale page on as many computers as you have at your disposal, there are some other things you need to do to prepare yourself for the ticket purchases. Blizzard Support Forum Agent Roraks has run down the vital list, so check his full posts after the break for more details, but we'll sum it up here:

  • Create a Battle.net account. You probably have one of these already, but don't hold on until April 24 at 6.59pm to make one if you don't. Get ahead of the game!

  • Add a payment method to your account. You'll need to pay for the tickets somehow, so adding one, or even several payment methods is a very good idea. Just in case your preferred one doesn't work, it's also a good idea to have a backup method available. If you've had your battle.net account all set up for a while, check that your payment methods are still valid and correct.

  • Blizzard also recommend that you contact your bank, or financial institution, so that they don't assume a $175 payment to someone you usually give $14.99 is fraudulent. If they think it's fraud, they may block the transaction.

  • Set up your cookies! If your browser is not set up to allow and automatically refresh cookies, you will be unable to move forward in the queue for tickets and may even lose your place within it. There are several guides linked in Roraks' post after the break.

  • Keep an eye on your email! A confirmation will be sent there, if it doesn't show up you'll need to go back to the store to confirm it.

And good luck! Hit the break for the full post.

Create a Battle.net Account
Creating a Battle.net account is quick and easy, but if you wait until after BlizzCon 2013 tickets go on sale to create yours it may be too late. Tickets can sell out quickly, so please set up your Battle.net account as soon as possible -- and be sure to verify your contact and billing information ahead of time

Add and Verify your Payment Option
In most cases, adding a Payment Option is necessary for a store purchase to successfully complete. You will have the option to add a new payment method during your purchase, however it's best to have it ready to avoid running into payment issues.

Prepare a Back-up Payment Method
In the event that your primary payment method cannot be authorized, it is extremely helpful to have a back-up payment method on hand. If you elect to prepare a back-up payment method, we recommend that you contact its sponsoring financial institution in addition to that of your primary payment method prior to starting your purchase.

Contact Your Financial Institution
While your financial institution may be accustomed to seeing monthly $14.99 USD charges by Blizzard Entertainment, larger charges such as one or more $175 tickets may be restricted if not expected. We strongly recommend that you contact your financial institution ahead of time to discuss any possible restrictions that may prevent your purchase. Keep in mind that you will have limited time to finalize your BlizzCon 2013 ticket transaction after reaching checkout.

Browse the Blizzard Store
We recommend browsing the Blizzard Store before tickets go on sale so that you can familiarize yourself with the process of adding items to your cart and checking out. Alternatively, you can check out our Placing an order at the Blizzard Store support article.

Check your Browser Settings
To properly access and progress in our Blizzard Store queue, your browser must be set up to allow cookies. If your browser is not set up to allow and automatically refresh cookies, you will be unable to move forward in the queue and may even lose your place within it. Because of this, we strongly encourage you to check your browser settings to verify that cookies are enabled before you begin your BlizzCon 2013 ticket purchase.
