RCA LED55C55R120Q 55-inch 120Hz 1080p HDTV

RCA 55-inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV

Price:$599.99 (MSRP $899.99)
Buy: Sears

While sites such as Amazon are selling this TV at MSRP, Sears is attempting to bust actual and virtual doors with some fireworks-like deals for sets such as this as part of its Independence Day Red Tag event. This RCA checks off all the standard visual specs for an impressively sized living room display, and is a smart buy for those who don't care about connecting their TV online or using it for 3D movies. We recommend beating the crowds by buying it online and opting for in-store pick-up rather than paying the store's ludicrous delivery fees, which can run higher than $100.

Canon EOS 60D

Canon EOS 60D

Price: $599 (MSRP $899, next best is $609). Eligible for free shipping/Prime
Buy: Amazon

Canon's middle-of-the road option is a solid step up toward the big time for Rebel users. Reviewers praised the camera's speed, ease of use and ability to shoot professional-looking HD video as well as stills. They also flipped over its array of accessible options that allow tinkerers to refine their creations. The only hesitation shooters should have in picking up the 60D at the low price is that its successor, the head-turning 70D is waiting on deck.

Kindle Fire HD

Kindle Fire HD 7-inch

Price: $169.99 (normally $199.99)
Buy: Amazon

Amazon's low-cost, low-spec answer to the iPad may not boast the sizzle factor of its Apple rival, but it's a solid and capable substitute for those looking for video streaming, web surfing and gaming. We recommended the Fire HD last year with reservations, praising its display, design and WiFi performance, while dinging it for its occasionally sluggish app switching and insistence on pitching you products. As the price continues to creep down, the Fire HD burns a bit brighter.

Bioshock Infinite Premium Edition

BioShock Infinite Premium Edition (Xbox 360)

Price: $44.99 (MSRP 79.99)
Buy: Best Buy

A deluxe version of one of the best-reviewed games of the year is not only nearly half the cost of the original sticker price, but 25 percent off the MSRP of the bare-bones version of the game. The set comes with a 64-page art book, a download of the game's soundtrack, a keychain, a figurine, a lithograph print and a smattering of in-game power-ups.
