Infestation: Survivor Stories (The War Z) surpasses a million players
Infestation: Survivor Stories, the massively multiplayer online zombie survival game that was called The War Z until some pesky trademark issues forced a name change, has over 1.3 million players worldwide.
Publisher OP Productions also shared today that that game has 400,000 players monthly, with more than 100,000 players logging in daily. It notes the game launched in December, which is trueish. The War Z launched on Steam this past December to a ravenous zombie horde of issues, and was removed shortly thereafter for false advertisement of game features. The game re-launched in February and currently holds a Metacritic rating of 20.

LOS ANGELES – July 23, 2013 – OP Productions, a leading publisher of massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), announced today that more than 1.3 million players worldwide have registered to play its zombie survival MMO game Infestation: Survivor Stories. Since the launch of its Foundation Release in December of 2012, Infestation has continued attracting new players while retaining its existing players, resulting in a large community with highly populated servers on which to play. Some of the current stats from the game include:

Infestation is an online, multiplayer, survival-simulation game set in an open world plagued with zombies. Players are thrust into this post-apocalyptic world five-years after a viral outbreak that ravaged the human population and left, in its wake, a nightmare of epic proportion. Hordes of undead zombies roam the cities, and the few remaining human beings have devolved into a lawless, nomadic society where the sole objective is to survive at any cost. Players must use skill and cunning in order to acquire food, weapons and other supplies necessary for survival. While navigating the vast landscape, they will discover cities teeming with the undead as well as other players that may or may not be friendly.
