Comedy Central laughs all the way to Xbox 360 with standup comedy app

Comedy Central announced that its CC: Stand-Up app is now available on Xbox 360. Using a layout similar to YouTube's Xbox 360 app, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can search over 6,000 stand-up comedy videos from over 700 comedians to find anybody but Dane Cook, please.

CC: Stand-Up is compatible with both Kinect and SmartGlass, and the app itself is already available on iOS. Now that we have a Comedy Central app on Xbox to make us laugh, we're waiting on Lifetime to bring us the tear-jerkers via Xbox Live. We need to get our cry on.

NEW YORK, July 30, 2013 – COMEDY CENTRAL got game! The network announced today that its innovative CC:Stand-Up app will now be available on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The app is a stand-alone extension of COMEDY CENTRAL and gives fans the ability to view the completely new stand-up channel directly on their TVs. Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S. will have unlimited streaming access to the #1 comedy brand's massive stand-up library featuring over 6,000 videos from more than 700 comedians.
Stand-up is the heart and soul of COMEDY CENTRAL, and has been a programming cornerstone since the brand's inception in 1991. Home to the largest stand-up library in the world, the CC:Stand-Up app on Xbox 360 will give fans hours of stand-up content from some of today's top comedians and up-and-coming talent – all from the comfort of their couch! The app on Xbox 360 extends COMEDY CENTRAL'S new digitally distributed, pure stand-up channel to the TV for the first time. The channel, which is updated daily, allows fans to immerse themselves for hours by hitting the play button using the Xbox 360 controller, by downloading Xbox SmartGlass on their mobile device for a second screen companion, or by using their voice with Kinect for Xbox 360 to navigate the app. Users can also enjoy themed playlists, watch bits from a recent special or find the very "best of" comedians such as Aziz Ansari, Patton Oswalt, Hannibal Buress, John Oliver, Amy Schumer, John Mulaney, among many others.
